I am a republican and a essential government worker in NYC. What your witnessing is the reaction to cultists deeply invested in their dear leader and realizing he failed them. They would rather not hear the criticism, they can’t take it because it undermines them. The allowed themselves to believe he was going to save them and he simply is not. I voted for him, but I was never invested in him to the extent that others were. I have a cousin who has not spoken to me for years because I criticized Trump. It’s a cultish devotion by many. I voted for lots of people since I was 18, 39 years and I can’t recall one of those politicians that I have not rebuffed when they warranted it. They want to be banned so they can feel they have been wronged, so they can say they are victims in the defense of their master. In defense of a cause. So they can feel aggrieved. Or so that they can be stopped from the compulsion they have to come and defend dear leader. They want you to make it easier for them. I never thought we would see this in the USA. All the years they have been fed a bag of goods from right wing radio and TV. They buy without examining the phrases “ Lame stream media “, “ Libtards “ and call themselves “ Real Americans “. I did it. It becomes habitual. What kept me from completely going down the rabbit hole is that my wife doesn’t agree with that way of thinking and served as a balance. She is every bit a patriot and good person and is a Democrat so how could I depersonalize whole group of Democrats.
