It's also been reported there were repeated briefings through December for policy-makers and decision-makers across the federal government as well as the National Security Council at the White House.

The military’s National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI) documented concerns about the initial stages of the pandemic in an intelligence report, two officials familiar with the document told ABC News, which added that the document highlighted how the virus was disrupting life and business and threatened the population in the area.

Does it matter? Well considering his response was pitiful, I would think the fact that he had EVEN more notice and time to prepare makes it more egregious. Could he have done more? Seriously? Surely you jest.

You are correct he is not a doctor or a scientist, (although he does try to play one on tv) even more reason he should leave medical opinion and scientific data explanation to the people who actually have a clue.

And yes, he let back 40000 US citizens. And there was no test for it bc it was such a new virus... until private industry started working on it... privatized healthcare 1- socialized healthcare zero! PPE has been a problem since 9/11, the ventilator shortage was way overblown.

Its not about a technicality. I didn't present it as those 40 countries had a huge head start on us so its not misleading either. It's not my fault you take issue with facts though. Private industry started working on it because of federal subsidized stimulus money that allows them to research potential cures on taxpayer dimes. They know what ridiculous profits can be made if they are first to a working vaccine as well. It helps that some of these companies are already billion dollar entities. This isn't all humanitarianism so let's not pretend that's a win. Socialized healthcare would be looking for a vaccine as well regardless of your stance on how poorly it works.

The rest of your post is nonsense. We had information on the virus when those 40,000 people traveled so by no means was it an encompassing ban. Many of those people could have been infected. Same with that travel ban to Europe that didn't include the UK (originally) and the legal immigration ban that doesn't include tourists traveling here. There are many people in that crowd who could or can be carrying.

I wouldn't bet on that yet. Democrats have a harder time convening together on a candidate than Republicans do. Trump's base is strong and they can really rally behind him. The left has these sectional divides where many of the Bernie and Warren supporters won't vote for Biden.

I'm not a Biden fan and i know plenty of people who lean left who won't vote for him. We'll see what happens. Wish the Democrats had someone stronger to run.

Nor am I really. I just can't imagine the Country enduring 4 more years of this level of incompetence. I agree the party is fractured. Biden has done little to mend or heal the scars. However I find solace in knowing some of his base is growing disenchanted with his handling of the crisis. Seniors are not happy.

I can't believe the best both parties could come up with is Trump and Biden lol.

I can only imagine what the supporters of Trump would be saying if it had happened under President Hilary Clinton. It sure would not have been give her a chance, no one could have been prepared for such a crisis. The chants would have been " String her up, string her up ". Anyway, from NYC I had an uncle/God Father pass away yesterday from it. He was 75 or so living in a senior citizens building not a nursing home. I think for some of you maybe living in States less effected it's more of hypotethetical and economic crisis. But watch out if not careful the virus can surge up to very dangerous levels in your States.
