Trump has brought things to a different level. People who identify as staunch R's have a very difficult time relating or rationalizing his behavior and rhetoric. I think there are some details missing... let's face it.. when you say Mass only got 17% and Maine 5% while Florida got 100%... the natural question is... % or WHAT?

Let face it.. If 3 poeple asked me for money, and I gave Mush 17% and Drt 5% and I gave clown 100%... some would be mad.. until you hear that Mush asked for 10000 and Drt 25000 and clown asked for $100....

Suddenly, when you look at those numbers now... they don't look quite so bad...

Florida, a state of 21 million, got all 180,000 N95 masks it wanted. Oregon, a state of 4 million, only received 40,000 of the 400,000 masks it requested, and New Jersey, a state of 9 million, got 85,000 of the 2.9 million masks it feels it needs.

To an extent, I agree. The only issue is Trump outbid governors to get stuff, that he now won't give.
Florida should not have gotten everything on its list

Why are the governors of NY, NJ, La not getting what they need? ( Not even close to what they need.)

Even more of a question is why people would give governors of those states so much crap for not being prepared but excuse Florida?

Thank you.

I didn't love W but I thought he was amazing after 9-11. While I didn't agree with him on many things, I actually thought he wanted he best for the country.
I felt the same about his father.
I didn't agree with many things they wanted to do but I felt they had a bigger picture that involved the rest of the world and all of us.

I get zero of that from Trump. I see a guy who's setting up his family to profit from this. I see a guy who is taking zero accountability while he does a horrible job being a leader. I was really hoping he would rise to the occasion and do a great job. he has done the opposite.

That is one reason why I support him since the Republican Party itself is a joke . He isnt like Romney or McCain .

The simplicity is this. Trump got elected and the country was very divided. It got more divided. In times of disaster, the president more than ever needs to bring people together. Make people feel safe and united.

Trump has created more division in this country during the worst national emergency we have ever faced.

I fear for what he does next.

Point taken, it is relative. But all the states are in need! Some much more than others. Is it coincidence the republican governor of Fla gets all he wants and more in record time. Is it a coincidence DeSantis happens to be a Trump stalwart and held out to the last minute to shut down the state whilst denying the intensity and severity of the pandemic? Believe what you will, but Fla asked for as much or more than many other states.

Trump isn’t the one that is causing greater division . It’s the media doing that by twisting and running away with every word he says . It’s the congress and senators that are causing great division by refusing to work together even now .
