Constitutional scholars, who argued the president lacks the power to implement a nationwide lockdown, said the president also doesn't have the authority to order the states to reopen.
That doesn't mean the president can't be influential in encouraging states to open businesses back up, particularly in states led by Republican governors closely aligned with the president. But it does mean he can't order states or businesses to reopen.
My original point is that the government in the states we are talking about , are clearly taking advantage of their power given to them to extend and increase their control over the people .
I bet LA county residents are thrilled. Their lockdown was just extended 3 more months.
I think it's impossible to know what's going to happen in a week or two and these things shouldn't be extended so long. They should be based on accurate and current data. They don't know what it's going to be like in 3 months.Quote:
