I agree. But in a unified country with a president less concerned with getting over on one party or the other and who is a good leader, I think the country closes faster and is up and running faster.Quote:

RC ,Yes his response was slow. Guilty as charged. The federal response was slower. Once Cuomo acted he did so decisively. He told the truth. He reassured people, not by cheerleading, but laying out the reality that confronted us! Keep in mind NYC is an international hub, more traffic passes thru NYC metro than any place in country. The odds were not in our favor. But there are no excuses. I agree. He should be held accountable.
Be that as it may, I said it before and I'll say it again, I would feel a hellva lot safer and sleep sounder if Cuomo was running the show at the federal level.
I'd feel much safer if neither of them had any kind of power. But it appears neither party can put forward a decent option these days.
This just goes back to the lesser of two evils. I don't think we should have to deal with such nonsense when it comes down to it.
Yes Cuomo has done a better job after his initial **** up. Trump has continued to drop the ball, I don't disagree with that, at all.

To be fair to Cuomo, you have a president in office who still doesn't understand the magnitude of this virus and its May 7th. Cuomo, Murphy (in NJ), Lamont (in CT) were all slow to respond. The tri-state area should have been shut down before California was and going back to those initial cases in Westchester county. These states knew how many people traveled back and forth to NY for work, travel, leisure, etc.Quote:

Trump left it up to the states. He was a big advocate of state's rights when he definitely should have intervened. The problem is he didn't take the virus seriously enough. Look we all know New York acted slowly but this being a country wide problem is not on the state of New York. If you click on States you will see the decline in a lot of States....this is a good sign folks. Baseball and Sports will return this summer as this virus hates the heat and sunlight.
