Brilliant, no wonder so many people died in NY nursing homes. Somebody needs to explain why Cuomo want to keep sending people who test positive for Covid-19 to nursing homes that have been decimated by this thing instead of sending them to one of the many other choices that he has that would appear to to be much saferQuote:

They are both being dishonest about numbers.
Miami Herald tried to sue Desantis a month ago for not releasing the real numbers. He sent his legal team to block it and convince the lawyers working for the Herald to stop. They did.
The Herald looks like it has a new group of lawyers and wants to restart the process.
Our president continues to say stupid things and behave like a buffoon. He continues to mislead people and it will cost a significant amount of lives.
I don't think it was on purpose that he did it. I'm not saying he's done a good job but he's not the only one to have broken tests. States were so desperate to get them, they were in a rush.Quote:

The problem is really the shortage of workers and tests. Many workers work in multiple facilities. They don't make enough money, they have to work multiple jobs. It's another example of how broken our system is. Families are paying significant fees for these facilities. The workers are being underpaid. That trickle down, does not work in many cases.
While it's. an impersonal, Darwinian statement, it make sense that these centers are getting crushed. You have an elderly community, many with one or more comorbidity that makes them absurdly vulnerable. Those places become petrie dishes.

Cuomo ducked up. I don't care what way you look at it. He should have never sent covid patients back to nursing homes until they were cleared. There was plenty of space for them outside of the nursing homes, the uss comfort was here for a few weeks and saw a total of 200 patients, Javits center had plenty of space, amongst other makeshift hospitals we had in the area.
NY is one of the states that doesn't require minimum staffing at nursing homes. That's been a huge problem for years. They never did anything to fix it. Cuomo has been in office nearly a decade. He knew about it and did nothing. That's on him.
**** him. He killed 100s if not 1000s of nursing home patients.

Cuomo may have handled it better than Trump, but he's made many mistakes himself.

Not disagreeing RC. He's made some mistakes. He was slow to respond. But it seems overall most people in the state are happy with his response and the job he's done.
Personally I believe, from a PR perspective it was handled brilliantly. Once he got things in motion he dealt with it head on and most importantly he told the truth. He confronted the painful reality, didn't try to duck or sugar coat it. He answered questions.
