They need to start doing this and the plasma thing on everyone. End this **** quick. No need to wait months or a year for stuff to get totally approved.https://media1.giphy.com/media/PLIxr...&rid=giphy.gif

You have the CEO of a major capital investment firm (and one of the principal owners of the GS Warriors) suggesting that every man, woman and child should have been given a half a million dollars as that would have done more for the economy more than saving failed hedge funds, bailing out billionaires, trying to save airliners and cruise ships.
Even if you want to make the case that's a myopic argument because there are so many other factors, the money isn't being used appropriately. Inflation would be an issue but the American dollar is getting stronger by the day backed by global fears economically.
There is certainly room to give more money to American citizens or at the very least allocate it better. The problem is both political parties work for the 1% and you have a president whose soul interest is fortune 500 companies so the American citizen will take a backseat.
For $500k I'll gladly stay home for another year and they can cancel all sports, both live and the re-airing of old games like they've been doing. I will live in complete isolation with just me and my family, only leaving the house once a month for big grocery runs.
You might want to rethink things... I've heard things from other sources (certainly NOT CNN or NBC News) and to be honest.. Trump is doing as well as any president really could.. The biggest area's that they fault him for as also the areas that the office of the President has not authority over... like a national quarantine.. He don't have that power... even Congress does not have it.. it's considered a states right so only the governors can call for that..
Everything else I hear is all accusation with little evidence.. just that that BS impeachment.. they were heaving on the accusations... very light on actual evidence (like NONE.)...
NY is getting hoisted by their own petards... Cuomo is complaining of lack of beds and ventilators.. of course one of his first acts in office 8 years ago was to close down many hospitals because there were so many empty beds... ooops.. now he needs them, and don't have them... Ventilators.. I'm hearing that his buddy Delasio Sold the stockpile.. smooth move ex-lax... Then they were threatening upstate NY by coming and just taking their Ventilators... Oh, that went over well... they way he was going to do it amounted to theft...
The medical community is put in a very bad spot here.. trying to find something that works or even a cure but you have exactly... no time to do as it's needed yesterday... well, that **** takes time...
and like anything else... the politicians are making this from bad to worse... This is a case where they aught to do what they normally do... Shut up and just throw money at it... let the Doctors and scientists do their thing and you need to get out of the way...
But they won't.... Dems accuse trump of creating it... oh, he's just trying to make money off of it.... Nancy, chuck.. just because that's how you operate don't mean that's how everyone else does.....
and is it just me, or does Chuck Schumer remind you of a ventriloquist dummy on Nancy's lap?
That's not necessarily true.

Obama would have put more public pressure on states to issue stay at home orders. At the end of the day, its what is best for the health of American people. It still is as we speak.Quote:
Neither federal nor state governments have clear authority, he argued, to restrict travel between states, thus making it difficult to justify any sort of domestic travel restriction in court.
Cohen predicted that in most cases the government would be required to show any quarantine order advances a “compelling government interest” and then prove that the government action was narrowly tailored to meet that goal. That’s where orders might get caught up in court: If quarantines or lockdowns are seen by judges as unnecessarily broad, they could be struck down.
Reopening the country at the end of this month is presumably a mistake as well. I understand the financial ramifications but if you attempt to normalize things too quick, you run the risk of this being a big problem again. The peak of this isn't supposed to hit for another week or two so April 30th is a really optimistic date.
Not to mention, you, Jorge, Mush, seem to forget the most dangerous part of this. The medical community differs but there are studies out there that suggest 50% (or more) are asymptomatic carriers. That's a scary stat even with proper precautions being taken.
actually, I'm hearing from multiple sources the exact opposite... this looks clearly man-made... would also explain why China clamped things down from the world... mutations would have had others sick from the previous iterations in years past... except there were no previous iterations... these things rare just pop up from nowhere...
No he's not. I give him credit for closing down travel from China but there are studies that the strain of the COVID virus affecting Americans actually came from Europe.

No need to rethink anything. He's handled this awfully from his time of downplaying the virus, to holding the federal stockpile of N-95 masks, etc. Its tiring to repeat. We've already gone over enough reasons why he has done a **** job and anyone who isn't sitting on party lines would admit that.
I don't see where the Democrats accuse Trump of creating anything. You want to blame the Democrats for putting unnecessary spending in the stimulus package, sure, but the Republicans version of the stimulus was half the funding. We're seeing how even the Democrats bill fall short. Both parties have blood on their hands. Not arguing that.
The fact that Congress and the Senate is not in session again until the 20th is a joke btw. Take your break when this **** is over. Hell, they have all summer off ffs.
This is a different part of welfare but my opinion.
Welfare was meant to help when it first came out.
NOW?
People abuse the system.
But the Dems know this and don’t care...just keep giving out charity checks for no reason.
People have zero incentive when they get free crap. How is welfare helping the Country?
Joe Biden is Walter Mondale for 2020.
And probably worse.
The Dems will say, well he is the lesser of two evils. Trump or Biden.
I’m sorry, but Joe Biden is the BEST the Dems had to offer for 2020?
Really?
I think Chuck Schumer or Pelosi would have been a better candidate than Joe Biden.
Joe does NOT move the needle and Trump does with everything good and bad...
That alone will get him back for 4 more years....
Why Mush? Why is a wet market bad?
Do you go to a butcher?
You know that supermarkets have a wet market?
They need control or sure and need to outlaw "exotic" sales but I find nothing wrong with going into a market where if you want a chicken, they will kill and dress it for you.
Have you ever been to china town in NYC? A fish market next to a butcher, next to a poultry shop is a wet market.

Because the T.V. Ratings for the White House News Conference’s are the highest, the Opposition Party (Lamestream Media), the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats &, of course, the few remaining RINO’S, are doing everything in their power to disparage & end them. The People’s Voice!
We had our highest death toll to date and this is what is on his mind.
Let that sink in.
. Well l be sure to return your corona check, if your entitled to it. That is welfare. We are moving to a new technological age which will eliminate huge sections of jobs. This covid 19 emergency may serve to hasten it. In a decade, you will likely be dead anyway, but our kids may not have jobs anyway. Retail as we have known it will be gone, drivers, truckers will be eliminated by driverless vehicles, lawyers and accountants will be less in need as you can do your own contracts and taxes with software, office jobs will be automated, schools and universities will switch to remote learning. So the future will either consist of mass dystopian homelessness and poverty for millions more Americans or a universal form of income will be provided. So forget the models of welfare that fill your mind and accept that the future is emerging that millions more people will have to be paid for doing nothing because technology and the economy clearly dictate that. It’s a new industrial revolution in the processs. Old models of who deserves help or who abuses the system are passed and a new understanding of what is needed is soon to be devised. You will likely not live to see it but your kids will or grandkids will definitely.
Preliminary results from German serological study of exactly the kind we need (N=509 so far) reveals that 14% of sample had antibodies for COVID19 & an additional 2% had current infection. Death rate of 0.37% found.

Why this is relevant and important, two levels of significance herd immunity and farming convalescent plasma. The larger the % benefits both.
Cuomo actually trimmed 20000 hospital beds over his tenure.
He trimmed the Medicare budget during the pandemic.
Wait....You have the gall and audacity to criticize the NY governor (D) while DeSantis (R) was the absolute worse and last to shut down the state? The guy who kept beaches open to "cash" in on spring break! Gimme a break you transparent hypocrite.
He took his cue from the state’s largest business groups, who happen to donate millions to Republican candidates each year, who also have been lobbying DeSantis and his staff to keep the state open.
The Florida Chamber of Commerce have spoken frequently with the governor and his staff, urging him not to take drastic measures that might shut down the state’s economy.
Cuomo has a conservative streak. Some in his own party often question his agenda. He jammed his budget thru during a time of crisis. He cut spending in critical areas including medicaid and social service. He also played politics at a crucial moment with criminal justice reform. A lot to take issue with no question. He's as slick as politicians get.
However there is no question he has handled this crisis with professional grace, honesty and empathy.
He Could Have Seen What Was Coming: Behind Trump’s Failure on the Virus
An examination reveals the president was warned about the potential for a pandemic but that internal divisions, lack of planning and his faith in his own instincts led to a halting response.
“Nobody knew there would be a pandemic or epidemic of this proportion,” President Trump said last month. He has repeatedly said that no one could have seen the effects of the coronavirus coming.

Many have dropped the ball on this.
Top 3 worst, IMO.(in no particular order)
Trump and his administration
Major Douche and his administration
Cuomo and his administration
Florida isn't far behind in terms of how poorly its being handled.
The second the lawyer from Westchester who commuted from Westchester to Manhattan every day and had just taken a trip to Florida, NY should have had a stay in order in place. The guy took the train every day. He infected 100s if not thousands of people directly and indirectly.
Cuomo and mayor dooche took way to long to shut it down.
NY took to long to shut down parks as well. They just did it about a week ago. People were still hanging in parks like it was no big deal.
I get the concern with shutting it down but it didn't take much to just look at what happening over seas to realize with the way NY is, it was going to take off.

Bingo! When you are always the smartest person in the room there are consequences. Comes with the territory with all narcissist. Notice he is never wrong, never accountable, bristles at any suggestion he's to blame or at fault, degrades and tries to minimize anyone who questions him?
