There are plenty of other places that do too, inside and outside of china. If a coronavirus came outta there then I'd be hating on them too. I dont care if they're chinese or something else. If this airborne **** came from Pakistan wouldnt it be fair to point out how grimey people there are, how some cities have open sewers and people serve food right next to it, and some places dont wash dishes, etc.

I think it will start dying off for this season come April once it warms up. Cruise ships will still be incubators, and it will be back next winter, maybe they have a vaccine by then. They are testing on a guy in Omaha, first human test of someone with the virus. Not a lot of new cases in China.

The real test will come this summer in Japan, at the summer Olympics.

Time to make value buys in the market. Lots of quality investments can be had at a 8-10% discount.

Also it's in countries that have at least decent health services just wait till it gets to other places hope it don't

Hear me out before people react... all diseases suck *** but this virus might be a legit blessing in disguise... not wanting death or anything because over population but you gotta wonder how the world would react/come together and get on top of a disease that can spread this fast and personally they are failing miserably... this should have been a much better effort from everyone across the board to keep this **** from spreading and its only going to get worse because we are still acting like its just the flu... yes the flu kills more people but this is new... who knows how anti biotics etc will work or what side effects there could be or if this turns into a super strain down the line that antibiotics cant beat... if we ever get hit with a legit super virus that spreads through the air with a super high mortality rate we are ****ed esp with how we keep expanded and how slow we are to step in as a people and not just a country.... even now you get lies across the bored galore.

I have no idea if this is a "big deal" or not. Half the articles I read act as if it's the apocalypse and the other half act as if it is no more prevalent or dangerous than a common cold. Trying to get accurate news about it and there's only sensationalism from both sides.

I think both are somewhat true. My wife is all over it so she is the expert but it seems like it is very very catchy and has a fatality rate of like 2%. So its not going to kill everyone but it could infect a ton of people and then it becomes a big problem. It also seems a little more tricky then Sars and other more recent flu strains that cause problems. With those you showed symptoms well before you became contagious. This one not so much. Anyway, real men like you and me well be fine :)

You pretty much got your answer right there. 14,000 deaths out of 26,000,000, that's roughly 1 in 2,000. Coronavirus is 2,000 deaths in 75,000 cases, that's roughly 1 in 35. In combination with its ability to spread, that's bad news. In the medical world a 1 in 35 mortality rate is EXTREMELY high.

Basically there are vaccines in place and methods to deal with the flu. They have no medical way of stopping Corona right now so they stop people at the border and travel. Corona can also lay dormant and still be caught after a period of time that the length of time is still in dispute. It also appears its transferring from animals to people or vice versa, (some one in England's dog that was on the Princess ship)

Sure, any immunocompromised individual will be affected more by any infection.

Yes, part of the issue is this is something new and we just haven't studied it long enough to understand it the way we understand other bugs.

A transmission rate of 1 person to 2 or 3 others is very high and will exponentially spread at a rapid pace. A 2% mortality rate is incredibly high. Influenza has a 0.14% mortality rate for contrast.

This very much is a pandemic - one that is extremely hard to contain since carriers without symptoms can transmit infection.

Those at highest risk are older and more chronically ill adults, but younger adults have died as well.

The best defense (we think) is to follow CDC guidelines. Frequent and proper hand washing with water and soap, or a 60% or greater alcohol hand wash is key. Avoid touching your mouth as much as possible. Only wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing. If you’re sick, try to stay at home.

If everyone follows the guidelines well we can limit the impact of this infection. But don’t listen to anyone underplaying its risk. This is a very real and very dangerous pandemic.

So China with a 2% rate should have 28,000,000 cases, not the 79k reported or only 2 in 1000 are being reported. Tens of thousands of people traveled from China to the US prior to the ban over a month ago, why aren't we seeing rapid growth in the US.

Yes, it has the potential to be very dangerous but it also has the potential to die off for the season as it gets warmer. Isreal believes they will have a vaccine ready to test in two weeks and be able to deliver in 90 days based on a vaccine they developed for a similar strain to protect livestock.

"If you’re sick, try to stay at home", this is the key except its stay at home, not try and don't self diagnose, see a healthcare professional or country disease control.
