The writer has one thing right: it’s a matter of perspective. From the perspective of the hotel housekeeper or the cellar worker in a large brewery, there might be a difference between Sanders’ vision of socialism and Warren’s notion of reform capitalism.
But, to those with the resources to wield the real power in this country, the distinction indeed does not matter: both Sanders and Warren are “the enemy.”
I hit the "I don't know if I agree or not" too hard. I absolutely have strong opinions about the two of them and what differentiates them. I was just trying to deflect from that and instead highlight the part that relates to the brief discussion Scoots and I had.
I personally think the differences between Sanders and Warren are not at all trivial, but I understand the issue of perspective like you said.
Bernie says, and has LONG said, that he is a socialist. Warren says she's a proud capitalist. How much differentiates them? I think a decent amount and that's a different story, but ideologically they're more similar to each other than they are to any other candidate, yet one calls himself a socialist and the other doesn't. I guess that's getting me closer to my ultimate point -- one that I'm not even sure I care much about tbh -- is that these words cover a much bigger ideological range than maybe we admit. Or maybe than they should. Or whatever. There's a lot of room for a lot of different thought under those massive umbrellas. Because really, we only frequently use two words to talk about these issues. That's not going to lead to much preciseness.
Said every presidential candidate for the last 40 years.....how are you going to somehow break the barrier? When regardless of how good your plan is that 50% of the people and 50% of Congress will oppose it with every fiber of their being. So it's a good concept as it's always been...but not happening in your or my lifetime.
Like I said, make me emperor for a number of months and I can get it done :)
I think the best possibility we've got for progress in the current system is to convince congress to start using more test cases that last longer than their terms where the analysis of success is bipartisan.
you aren't properly equipped for any discussion and only spew whatever nonsense is on your mind.
you lie here on a regular basis. you make accusations of things I have said, that I haven't said.
to get back to the original topic, it would be hypocritical for one side to go on and on and on and on and on (ect/ect) about Trump lying on anything they can find/use to make a claim of lying, but say nothing when it's a Democrat that is lying. where is the Liberal media fact checking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
yeah, cause its the same
move along troll, focus on steel slats and hating immigrants.
To be fair, AOC is left of center, far left, and journalists certainly should be calling her on her ****.
