I'm sure he did. But let's not act like had he chose to not work he'd have a tough life. His Ceiling was still high if he put in the work, but he also would have had a very high floor had he not.

We are also leaving out the other advantage for his chosen path. Them's some sweet genetics.

You have money so that he doesn't need to worry or want for anything. Can have the best coaches, best trainers, best nutritionists, best doctors money can buy. Plus the genes of an all star QB.

Yeah, not saying he didn't put in the work, but let's not act like he didn't have every conceivable advantage a kid could have when trying to make it to the pros.

More importantly is the philosophy intended behind handouts.

From a Republican viewpoint they are seen as a safety net for individuals who are currently struggling but so long as they are able, they will eventually choose to and gain employment.

From a Democrat viewpoint they are seen as a small amount of money in order to keep people under their control. They are not seen as a method to eventually lift people up.

To use your example of wealthy kids- republicans want the Peyton Manning outcome. Democrats want a tommy boy outcome (where he doesn’t win in the end).
