No one is trying to get one over on the next guy…they're just trying to do better for themselves and their families. Someone comes up short, that's the way it is. It will always be that way.

as would not capitalizing on human nature. Or creating laws to carve out a specific group of people to criminalize because of the drug they choose. As would actually giving a **** about those in poverty, instead of being lazy and claiming their choices are the reason they are there.
Meh, keystrokes galore to say the same ****. While I disagree with virtually every thought you have, you sure don't lack patience.
Getting over the next guy is the name of the business.
What makes people thrive is competition. An imbalanced wealth gap makes the market less competitive.
The ugly truth about the US economy is that it is dependent on artificial liquidity and central-bank jawboning, not organic growth.
There is zero evidence that markets can make or sustain new highs without some sort of intervention on the side of central banks.
The truth is that Democratic views on welfare revolve around demand dictating economic growth and that the federal government should use its power to spur demand when necessary. It's not as much about the people.
If we want to get people off of welfare, we need good paying jobs to keep up with the demand of our businesses.

Ok, last time I'm doing this.
I did not fact check this much but I found similar/identical numbers in my research for a few of those periods, he isn't getting accused of lying and it sounds like what every non-reactionary has been saying. That is: THIS IS NOT RADICAL. If anything is radical it's what we're dealing with now.
Also, amidst all of this fact checking you can see that AOC is willing to admit mistakes and, more importantly, LEARN. Too many of our politicians can not do that. Especially our President.
I saw some dumb article from NBC News about how she's being Trumpian. **** that. He has no desire to learn, suggest he was wrong or communicate with others about it. He has never said that he was wrong. He only ever doubles down. And we're talking about intentional lies...that doesn't apply here with AOC. I can think of few better traits a politician can have than understanding they don't know everything and working to get there.
She's great. An absolute gift for the progressive agenda.

Through manipulation of the “pass-through” filing status, fifteen Republicans from tax-writing committees will receive an average tax cut of $314,000 this year, based upon pass-through income information contained in their financial disclosure forms.
Originally, the “pass-through” tax status was intended to help small business owners by allowing earnings to be passed through to them to be taxed at the personal income rate instead of the corporate tax rate. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act made this filing status even more lucrative by including a 20% deduction of business income from pass-through owner’s taxes. For example, a pass-through that brings in $100,000 would only be taxed on $80,000. This was included with the stated intention of helping small businesses, but just 10% of taxpayers claiming pass-through income are actual small business employers.
The other 90% include taxpayers looking to lower their tax responsibility, with half of pass-through income being claimed by those who conduct no business activity at all. According to ThinkProgress, all fifteen Republicans who had a hand in last year’s tax bill fall into the latter category, and stand to gain $314,000 on average in tax savings.

I agree with Ocasio that our politicians are corrupt. Which is precisely why they don't get more monopoly money to waste. :silly:
I constantly hear **** about how different our political climate is. Go watch those shows about the 80s and 90s, etc. We're still talking about the same crap they were talking about 30 years. They don't fix anything and they always want more of your money.
