wtf? if you had said building two casinos in atlantic city then maybe your point would be valid... are you under some misguided belief that ownership of casinos in LV are not concentrated?

I also find it funny that you rail against Trump when it comes to the Casinos when all he was doing was taking the handouts offered by different government entities to build AC back up... that is where the failed policy began and the real cost to tax payers happened.

many doesn't mean most haha. It means many. Usually, people who inherit money were raised around it (to some degree), so hopefully spending habits, etc, have been learned. Like, you don't see PGA players go broke after they stop playing. Why? Because in order to get really good at golf, your family had money. NBA/NFL players go broke all the time. Why? Because most of them came from nothing, and have no clue how to manage money.

Documented stupidity…he has had successes on many different levels.

Vitriolic devoted to her is in response to constant bombardment of her and her goofy ideas by the media.

Your constant inability to give Trump credit for anything shows a total lack of objectivity and makes me question any opinion you may have regarding the man.

They are for the most part ignoring publicly and endorsing others. They and the left leaning publications are not all out attacking AOC to anywhere the same veracity. This is probably because they don’t want to start a huge civil war and fracture the party when they are still well positioned within the party (though they’ve had to concede a lot of ground).

Conservatives are pressing this all out. That’s why people like Sluggo and Brewer were wondering why she’s been receiving all this attention. A lot of that attention on the Dem side has petered out. Conservatives have not, they continue to try and make this a huge issue for the reasons I’ve mentioned above.

They aren't doing it out in the open but behind the scenes there is a big concern that this will **** up the blue wave... I have multiple friends who work with the DNC and democratic candidates who wish she would just shut up and go back to her district.

anyway... I think people just focus to much on the conservative reaction to her... neither party likes their extreme ends.... they all want the status quo toward the middle which enriches them personally and professionally.

I give Trump credit for manipulating the media. I give Trump credit for enacting measures to destroy the environment. I give Trump credit for fattening the wallets of the wealthy. I give Trump credit for increasing the budget of an already obese military. I give Trump credit for his ability to make friends with global autocrats.

But I give Trump the most credit for deceiving so many people into thinking that he’s in it for them.

Trump is a human being. He's had his successes (which no one here has the temerity to give him any credit for) and he's had his failures.

Is he stupid?…not by a long shot. He's no dumber than many of the posters you see here, except they can all hide behind silly screen names and funny faces. You don't accomplish in real estate development or entertainment (or politics for that matter) by being stupid.

I've said this before…Trump is not a politician. He says what he feels and what is on his mind. Almost all politicians have mastered the art on never letting anyone really know how they feel or what they are thinking. e/g/ abortion…most try to give their opinion without really telling you if they are for it or against it. Politicians are like this on most issues. Many speeches Obama made and it was hard to tell what he actually said. He did read very well. Or Bill Clinton "It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. " Trump just blurts out his thoughts or does those silly tweets. And I think you would be surprised how many people feel the same way Trump does on many topics. They just won't say it. Trump does.

Second Bolded: If he's not stupid despite the many times he has displayed a fundamental lack of understanding on policy issues and facts, how come Cortez is stupid for the same transgression? You are not being consistent.

Third Bolded: It's not that he says what's on his mind that bothers me, it's that he lies so much. He says factually incorrect things all the time, he says things he knows are factually incorrect. I don't have a problem with someone saying what's on their mind, I have a problem when someone says factually incorrect things. Which Trump does a lot.


Which is my point, you are not being consistent. You hate Cortez because she says things that aren't true and call her stupid because of it, but you don't hate Trump because he says things that aren't true and you don't say he's stupid because of it. Obviously, I don’t know him personally, so I can’t say one way or another, but the public persona he projects suggests that indeed I would not like him.

That said, I do despise his continual lying.

Most important though, as I have said a number of times, I simply do not like his policies. Like most Republicans, he supports regressive initiatives, the vast majority of which I oppose.

I do give him credit for his success at managing to gain the nomination (with his effective manipulation of the media) and to win the election (ditto, along with a few other factors — more numerous I think than the just the two others Vinylman mentions, though I don’t disagree with those two).

To be honest, I hope I never see the likes of the 2016 presidential election again. But I fear I will, and I fear it might be even more repugnant in the future.

God, that was the worst choice for the presidency I have ever seen. One of the other candidates should have been a bottle of fast-acting poison.

Why is it that every liberal and Democrat finds it necessary to hang on Trump's every last word in the hopes of coming up with something to "get him."

The guy is not a politician, he speaks in hyperbole, he speaks off the cuff without a teleprompter. He's also vulgar and says many inappropriate things. He's different. Is he "presidential?" No he is not. Does he lack diplomacy? No question about it. Does he say things other politicians would never say? He absolutely does.

Does he intentionally mislead the American public? I don't think he does. Does he lie for personal gain? No. If he was interested in personal gain he never would have run for the presidency.

He's just not that good at the game.

Consider this…

Hillary Clinton stated on the Supreme Court appointee that (paraphrasing) "he would take us back to the 1850s." There was no mention of slavery. Yet, everyone and I mean everyone, put the slavery tag into the equation. Both sides. The way she said it was intentional and planned and the effect was what she had wanted. This is politics. Getting the intended results without ever really mentioning what those results are while paving a clear path to deniability. The democrats are masters at this. Especially the Clintons. Trump is out of his class in this area. Obama was fine as long as he read the teleprompter. As soon as he got off the script, his "smoothness" evaporated.

Trump ius just abysmal in this area.

Personally, i hope Trump does not run in 2020. If he has to compete in a primary (has this ever happened? I Dunno.) I would vote for someone else. He does a lot of good but he is too divisive and I think the other side (which includes most of the people here) have lost their perspective. He has done a lot of good things we can all grow upon. Some of you need to give him a chance…probably not going to happen.

I still believe the country moves forward better under republican control. Maybe another republican can unseat him.
