No, saying that indicates that there was no way the rioters could have harmed her. That would simply be grossly incorrect any way you look at that statement. No harm came to her because no one decided to breach her building, not that rioters couldnt do so at any given opportunity. That is not remotely the same as, never being in any real danger. This was not a secure location. Imagine there's massive looting and rioting in your neighborhood, and the house next to yours was broken down and ransacked with the owners still inside, and assaulted them, but for whatever reason they left your house alone. Were you never in any danger? HELL NO! If even one person knew she was in that building, do you think the mob wouldn't have been alerted to this fact and turned that building upside down looking for her?
If someone in a crowded theater yells fire, is he responsible for the ppl who trample each other to get out? After all, he didn't tell them to run over each. What do you think the law says about this?
Trump has been egging his followers on and claiming fraud before the election even took place and ramped it up after it was over with false claims based on his own fairytales. It's been a constant barrage of propaganda and lies. Then he holds a rally in DC and tells his followers and gives the following speech below. What do you think a group of white supremacists, neo nazis, and crazed conspiracy theorists and mentally unstable ppl are going to do with this? What happened was no surprise, the least of all, to someone like Trump, who knows his base.
Quote:
“We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved. Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore, and that is what this is all about. And to use a favorite term that all of you people really came up with, we will stop the steal. …
“You will have an illegitimate president. That is what you will have, and we can’t let that happen. These are the facts that you won’t hear from the fake news media. It’s all part of the suppression effort. They don’t want to talk about it. They don’t want to talk about it. …
“We fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.” - TRUMP
AOC wasn't in the "house next door", she was down the block.
more evidence that those rioting were idiots, her location is listed online where anyone could know where she was. I've provided that easily myself, Cannon building.
nothing Trump said was equivalent to fire in a theater.
if Trump is supposed to be held accountable for the actions of morons who interpreted something wrong then were is the standard for the other side and things they have said that have been actually worse. where are the charges for the likes of Maxine Waters and Hillary Clinton?
nobody has been able to provide that AOC was actually in danger. her building/office was never stormed, had no rioting, or people would be able to show that.
AOC has never apologized for wrongly vilifying Capitol police.
nobody has anything about how Ted Cruz did anything to specifically impact AOC.
AOC cult will believe any narrative that protects her, while allowing her to exaggerate anything to make sure she is always the victim.
when confronted about Ted Cruz, she deflects to again be the victim by bringing up that she is a sexual assault survivor.
when confronted on where she was, she deflects to again be the victim by attacking a rape victim.
the power that she has to make all of this happen is remarkable, and nobody can admit that she was wrong about anything, exaggerated/lied.
The thing is, I dont much care where she was because I believe she believed her life was in danger. I also believe that Ted Cruz, in perpetuating the lie that the election was stolen, contributed to what became violence in the 6th. I dont think that any amount of"evidence" put forth will change how either of us feel about the situation, so what is the point of engaging on the subject. We clearly see things differently.

honesty. lets have some honesty and people being bipartisan. drop the political ******** that some think means they have to stick to their side and lets criticize people where it's due.
AOC to Ted Cruz, "you almost had me murdered". that is not true. that is at least misleading/exaggerating, which has been established with Trump is the same as lying. she deceived people and people here don't care. why should anyone expect honest conversation when something simple like this can't be agreed on.
Imagine that: Special pretending like he has some life lessons about honesty and bipartisanship to teach everyone (as he's knee deep in a week long argument about how AOC wasn't in "real danger" and therefore shouldn't have "really been scared" and therefore is a "liar"). :laugh2:
You want honesty? Here's some honesty- your take on this is horribly short sighted and heavily biased.
I'm not even an AOC fan and the most I can see from her end is being a bit mellodramatic- i.e. Cruz didn't almost have her murdered, but his actions still helped put things in motion that could have resulted in exactly that. Legally an accessory? Probably not. A factor, most definitely.

Whether people agree or disagree with the statements AOC has made, this is utterly classless. Using this as a position to publicly fundraise is disgusting.

bold, that's it. period. nothing Ted Cruz said or did had AOC almost murdered.
people should be able to agree on the bold, and instead double down with AOC.
has anyone else Republican or Democrat accused Ted Cruz of almost having them murdered, especially those actually that were in the Capitol building where the rioters were? the only one exaggerating this claim that I have seen is AOC.
there are many different things that could happen, that could be used to make outlandish claims, but they didn't and those claims would be meaningless. there have been death threats and assassination remarks for Trump over the last 4 years, that could have been put in motion by many things said by Democrats or media. does anyone want to hold them accountable, Trump could have been murdered. except, it didn't almost happen.
what about the shooting of the Republican baseball field, who put something in motion to cause that to happen?
AOC deserves to be criticized for the words that she used.
