I don't know what you're arguing against here. There are ways you can tax these people without stifling their growth. I'm pro capitalist. I have no problem with people who make a lot of money but I don't think there needs to be a complete change.
Capitalism has a lot of great qualities that can be completely ignored by the far left. But the far right acting as if no reform is needed, and capitalism has no downfall are ridiculous. I don't think all billionaires are bad people. I'm not a full on socialist. But we're at a turning point in society where blue collar jobs are going away. The ability to make a good honest living with blue collar work and hard labor, is going away. This is an inevitability.
And I know you like to pretend it's "because of Democrats". It's not. Both parties have had their hand in moving jobs over seas. But most of these jobs are disappearing because of automation. And as we move to a service based economy a lot of people are feeling left out. We need nurses/programmers and no longer need a lot of low education middle class jobs.
And it's funny because you are saying all this "get an education". Well the previous generation didn't need an education. Both my parents didn't graduate from high school, and make 100k+ a year at businesses that you now need a 4 year degree in order to make 70k a year. And to be quite honest some people are just not meant for college. That's why I do have a lot of empathy for the coal miners. Or the Steel Workers. Or the truck drivers in America. But those types of jobs aren't going to be available in 20 years. That's a reality. That's millions of middle class jobs that are going to be sucked up by the market.
Our economy was built from the idea, that if you start a business and it's successful you will create jobs, and make a lot of money. Tech has completely blown up that philosophy. So we need to make changes to the way we tax companies and how we deal with the common low educated worker.
You are talking about "get educated" as if that is how it's always been. It's not. You use to be able to just work hard and get places in this country. You didn't need a 4 year degree. These opportunities dry up year by year. And with the huge wave of robotics coming that will once again push millions out of jobs we need to have a plan before the middle class is destroyed. And people like you that use these simplistic dumbed down "people are just lazy" philosophies are just completely ignorant to what's actually happening.
OK cool. I jumped in late. Seems like a silly and frivolous argument over semantics to me.
Trump is falling over himself trying to execute as many people as he can before leaving office. I think if you actually didn't like the death penalty you'd be more focused on that then whipping out the dictionary and "well, actually...it's not technically murder".
