Baloney. There are several people here that are dissing our military. And you are completely wrong about the notion that WAR IS EVIL. Evil is the people who force a country to use WAR to stop them from the evil that they cause in the world. And when a person calls the military a bunch of baby killers, murderers, and worse, they are calling the soldiers who fight in those wars baby killers, murderers, and worse. I was called that and many of my brothers were also accused of that and I really resent it.

So don't even begin to try and lecture me to "reflect on what I read before I FLY OFF THE HANDLE". I have no problem reading and comprehending what is said. Those four soldiers were attacked and with the rules of engagement that they had had every right to defend themselves and were not the damned "GANGBANGERS" that you obscenely called them. All four of these fellows were decorated veterans of the US military. All were NCOs in the US military. Thse were not F'ing "GANGBANGERS. Shame on you for that label.

It's not really about the military. Its ANYONE who knowingly and purposefully kills civilians.

It could be the US military. It could be al Qaeda. It could be Chinese army. It could be African Sudanese militants.

The group one belongs to really plays no role in killing babies, it's the action of killing babies which does.

Being a soldier does not preclude one from being an *******.

I respect the hell out of our military. I also think we spend way too much money on it and utilize a fair number of people who do not represent nor defend the country I believe America should be.

All of what you said is from a certain perspective. We are not the good guys by default. And we are routinely the bad guy in our last 60-70 years of conflict. Perhaps we should revisit why American soldiers have gotten the negative stigma that they have (earned).

The silly person thinks wars are like a John Wayne war movie. I had a friend who can back from the Vietnam war messed up in the head from the horrors of war. He wasn't the only one. Bad things happen. Children's hospitals get bombed or shelled. Innocents die. Look at the civilian causality list from WW II or Indian-American war. Babies get killed, soldiers panic under fire, and not everybody is suited for war so atrocities happen. Wake up, evil and inhumane things happen in Wars on both sides of the conflict. That is why it should always be the last resort. Protecting life, family, and home. As a Christian, I hope I am never put in that position.

War is evil. Killing is killing no matter the reason. There are no gotta damn "buts" in the Ten Commandments. No wonder our kids come back messed up from wars. We bring them up one way and then tell them at a young age to do the exact opposite. Killing should be the most extreme option. Lately, our government getting to slap happy with using it. A war/armed conflict that lasts a generation?

If I am not mistaking, the four soldiers you are talking about were contractors working for Blackwater. They were mercenaries. Children were killed, the youngest being around seven years old. Families were shot. These guys shoot indiscriminately into a crowd. Sounds like gangbangers to me. Don't make it like I was calling our soldiers that when I was talking about these Blackwater mercenaries. That is what I mean by flying off the handle.

Wars have been with us since the beginning of time.

Wars are here now.

Wars will be here in the future.

There is no such thing as a nice war.

China has about 1.5 billion people, a huge economy, good wealth, a powerful military yet they may some day go to war over an inconsequential island off its coast.. It would be to the benefit of everyone on the planet if China will just accept Taiwan as a separate country, but thewy never will and someday millions could die over this ridiculous point.
