Do you think AOC statement implied that you shouldn’t follow the rules for asylum if you come? I think by mentioning asylum it implied that you should follow the asylum rules.

I think Harris’ statement which just said don’t come implied that those seeking asylum the correct way weren’t welcome.

I’m still curious why you didn’t call out Harris for not qualifying her statement when some people coming have legitimate cases. Aren’t you for legal immigration?

this is not true.

if AOC wants to be accurate, she should say seek asylum at ports of entry. that is how asylum works.

these migrants that are coming to seek asylum are likely not aware of where they can seek asylum, which could be because some like AOC are not giving them the right information.

How do you know what they know and don’t? Why didn’t you call out Harris? Don’t you think a blanket “don’t come” is unwelcoming for those with legit cases? Wouldn’t you call her out if you were for legal immigration?
