Because an Hispanic didn’t run against them?

If you are someone who has the capacity to understand most issues, and follow most issues and actually think about long term consequences then likely you should run for office.
I do this thing with my students. I ask What should we do about drugs. I have given them all this info about our system, legalization and decriminialization, and the obvious answer for what to do about drugs is decriminalization... then I ask
OK what happens to all the people in jail?
We let them out!
OK we let out a million people tomorrow, all of whom have no jobs and no place to live. What's gonna happen?
uhhhhh.... uhhhhhhh.....
OK we have made drug use decriminalized and we need more treatment folks and less police officers. What do all the trained police officers do?
uhhhhhh. uhhhhhhh.....
My point is... I know a few things really ****ing well. I vote on those. I trust that my friends who are into economics will vote on that. Those who understand foregin policy vote on that. For some people they know this one thing really well, let them vote on that. Again it's the opposite of the saying "a person is smart, people are stupid." Together we can make good decisions knowing what we know. Some of that is identity.
voting for someone based on their race or gender is stupid. for example if someone white voted for a white candidate just because they're white and this candidate wanted to do things that were more against what they want then that would be a stupid reason to vote for that candidate. race/gender shouldn't make a difference.
white is also the majority. if someone white votes for a candidate that is also white then more often I imagine that would not be the reason why.
I would love to see Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez run for President. not because I would support her, but because I want to see her exposed. but it looks like she wont be running for President..
right but voting for a person you can identify with is very common, and I don't fault anyone for that. Do you think before Obama, blacks ever had ANYONE that they could identify with? No, they did not. Where as white men have ALWAYS had multiple choices of people just like them.
A hispanic neighborhood voting for a hispanic woman from that neighborhood? Yep, its just fine.
by the way, while living in Houston, I heard multiple white men say, "I wouldn't vote for Obama, he is black". I can guarantee you many of these same men wouldn't vote for Hillary because she is a woman. So acting like white male Republicans don't stick to their white boys is ludicrous. In fact I would think they are actually more loyal to their kind than minorities when it comes to voting.
Is it “an Hispanic” or “a Hispanic”? Because if this is like the acceptable use of “an historical” I’m gonna be annoyed.
It would be "a Hispanic" and "a historical". Anyone using "an" with a word that has a consonant sound isn't fit to lecture "a Hispanic" on their grammar or tell them to "speak English". I've got no problem with mistakes and when typing, I can easily forgive putting just "a" and a word with a vowel sound as I know that I've had cases where the keyboard didn't recognize a key stroke. But it rarely ever adds extra letters. Wrong letters, sure; but not extra ones. I've typed "he" when trying to type "the" more times than I can count. Odds are if you read a sentence of mine that seems to make less sense and contains the word "he", you should read it as "the" and hopefully it makes more sense.
An awful lot of whiteys must have voted for him somewhere.
Or maybe it was massive voter fraud. Who can we get to look into this?
What we need, I guess, is a nameless, faceless human that goers by a number and stays behind a constant shroud (not a sheet) so we can't see him/her/lgbtqabc. During debates they can answer questions using one of those voice gadgets. Once the election is over we unveil the winner to see who, I mean what, they actually are. We then give the losing side 6 months to whine about fraud, Russians, hookers, graft, crime whatever and then they have to shut up.
That should please everyone.
haha, all I mean is, whites have always voted for whites, it's been the only option. And in a country dominated by whites, that isn't abnormal. I will say though, the "stick to your own kind" mantra being criticized has been going on forever here. Why it's all of a sudden called out makes no sense is all.
We just need more than 2 parties man. So sick of it..
