It didn't disprove my comment, my comment said nothing about the tax rate, just that the govt is now more stringent with the tax write offs. For example before the food limit per day was about 100, now it's only 50 and only half of it can be written off now, and technically you even need paper receipts now, lol, like wtf! We eat on the clock, so like I said, for me this is bad.

Closing loopholes is part of lowering the tax rate. Having a lower tax rate instead of loopholesmakes it more simple for small businesses to receive the same tax breaks as large companies. Again, it’s no surprise that jobs have increased and unemployment is at record lows in some cases.

Paying taxes is fine but for absolutely nothing, I don't see the point. Literally nothing has happened yet and yet the taxes have already gone up.

Are you saying that the tax breaks are what lead to the job and unemployment numbers?

What loopholes are you talking about?

While job and unemployment numbers were trending positively at the end of the Obama administration, they have done even better under Trump. I believe the tax break definitely has an impact on those numbers. As well as the market reacting favorably to an administration that works with businesses. It’s funny how the rich getting more rich can also equate to moderate families making more money too...

I’m not going to look into tax loopholes and such. I don’t pretend to be an advanced accountant. Just that the tax code has been simplified. Otherwise, when it’s too complicated, Small businesses fail.

Who says it’s for nothing? Perhaps the economic development in your area will spurn growth in the local government. We all know the world needs more government employees.

Sure, well basically if that were the case what I'd expect to see is a bump in those numbers right at 2018/2019 (when the tax plan went into effect) , not just a continuation of a trend. I don't know if that exists, I don't believe so

I don't know of any tax loopholes he's closed, I don't know how that came up to begin with. I'm not sure if you meant that in response to my write off comment, but decreasing write offs isn't the same as closing loopholes

I alluded to the fact that she had a degree in economics (something pointed out numerous times) yet did not work in that field. Seems odd and may allow one to question her abilities in her chosen field.

Anyone who is gainfully employed will never be insulted by me for whatever it is he/she does.

My father was a bartender for most of my childhood before he moved up to a clerk on Wall Street. Never had a really good job due to lack of education (victim of the depression). I don't criticize anyone who works.

There have literally been no jobs created as they haven't done anything in the area. So paying the higher taxes on a hope they will do something is my definition of nothing.

This kid is 29 years old and out of college. At that age, I think you can assume that she either…

A. Could not get a job in her educated field of economics
B. Didn't try to get a job in her educated field of economics

The only reason I harp on this is because she is always depicted as an intellect with a degree in economics and based on that we are expected to take her views on economics as gospel.

No one is telling you to take what she says as gospel. You are free to disagree with her. I think I come down on the other side on the Amazon deal. I'd like to know more but gun to my head I definitely disagree with her there. I don't see you disagreeing I see you not listening and just scoffing b/c she worked as a bar tender!

Bold 1…I don't but a lot do. That interview with Chris Hayes (or Rachel Maddow [I think they're thew same person]) was laughable, yet all the audience hung on her every word.
