The absolute best thing about Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is how she sends the right wingnuts into near cardiac arrest.

The way she’s manipulating the press and driving the conservative dipsticks apoplectic — why, she’s making Trump look like an amateur.

This is much better entertainment than dreary old SotU addresses.

Is there? I don’t think the national emergency is that we don’t have a wall. Its boarder security. A wall will not make the boarder 100% secure. Just like Environmental actions won’t 100% solve the problems they are addressing.

The issue is that studies show people generally being less productive when telecommuting after having an office job. And too many bosses want to yell at actual people and phones are less satisfying.

Capitalist supply and demand has a built in method for bringing prices down ... competition. The regulation that keeps new housing from being built drives housing costs up higher faster than it would be if housing was not so tightly regulated, and often massively overloaded with fees.

If you look at the worst example, San Francisco, they have done a TON to make things more expensive while paying lip service to "stopping gentrification". Google had "green busses" to transport employees from SF to their offices but SF outlawed them which made traffic worse. Parking was a problem in SF so they got digital parking meters which instantly made parking in SF incredibly expensive which just drove up the value of local housing while punishing people who drive in to the city to work. Parking in SF is generally more than $40 a day ... can you imagine spending $1000 a month in bridge tolls and parking just to get to work? Public transit is incredibly slow and expensive compared to other cities. They have a history of being so nice to their homeless population that they are over-run, but they still don't do anything about it. There is a human poop clean up crew making $190k a year just to pick up poop all day. Massive regulation has resulted in a really expensive really broken place to spend time. An SF Ferry month pass is around $350, 3 times the price of a NYC month ferry pass. It's just so expensive all over the place.

If Trump declares the national emergency, and decides to set that precedent, you're exposing yourself to the things you don't want to be implemented unilaterally by whoever is the president. And it doesn't matter what it is, it just depends on the argument for it.

For the record (for whatever that's worth here) I would not be for declaring a national emergency for the wall. It sets a very bad precedent. Just like impeaching Trump for the reasons everyone is throwing around is a bad precedent.

My only point was that if he did dit it, the reason for the emergence is doable. A national emergency for some of the Green agenda is for things that are impossible.

What are Spanish people this week. Latino, Latina, Hispanic, Spanish.

I thought there were just Caucasoid, Mongoloid and Negroid (can you still say that) races. And I didn't mean to put Caucasoid first. I swear it. It's alphabetical. Honest.

So is the Ocasio kid Mongoloid and Negroid if not white. And if you tell a hispanic, latino, Spanish person they are not white…will they be OK with that. Good luck with that one.

There is only so much real estate for that housing in those cities though. So you can't really bring in more competition. That's why the housing prices are so high in the city and it radiates lower outside of them. Sure there are regulations that tack on additional costs. But parking is not one one of them.

And the poop cleaning crew sounds a little bizarre/anecdotal. But if thats at all true let me know where I can send in my application.

I agree with the bold and I agree that parts of the Green agenda there's just no argument for declaring a national emergency. But I'm just trying to say that the use of declaring a national emergency could be used for a wide range of issues, like healthcare for example.

You're right. Which is why I would not call a "National Emergency" to build the wall.

However, the influx of all the Mexicans along the Taco Trail to the southern border seems like far more of a National Emergency than some of the other ones that have been called over the years. Many are still in existence. There are just under 30 active National Emergencies…few of which would seem to affect the typical American citizen anywhere near as much as what is going on down Mexico way.

Look them up. Most seem irrelevant and most Americans could not care less about them.

1) California isn't the entire country. "small scale." yeah, thanks for admitting there isn't a precedent.

2) Why? My neighbor has lots of family members in his home (it's a three story building) and they all work in different areas. That's not part of the problem. That's them having a job and paying their tax dollars by working. Sorry if you want to penalize people for driving to work.
