A handout is a payout for someone who is “unwilling” to work or to someone who did nothing to earn it. That doesn’t include social security or people who are really unable to work.

If someone is born wealthy, someone earned the money.

So at least you realize being born wealthy is no different than receiving a very large handout. Sure someone 'earned' that money, but it wasn't them. That's exactly as you put it, a handout.

The government doesn’t “earn” that money either, they take it from their citizens. The purpose of taxes is suppose to be for the betterment of the community as a whole not so one one person can benefit. There’s also different laws regarding public property.

People win the lottery as well. Equal opportunity does not mean equal outcomes.

Also, people who are “handed” money are typically less driven then people who had to actually work for their earnings. Work ethic has more value than anything.

Let’s attempt to limit certain products (cigarettes, fast food, etc) by applying a high tax on them....

Now let’s place higher taxes on income because that won’t limit earnings at all...

It’s theft when the payouts don’t benefit the community as a whole and the community can equally use those benefits. Obviously there should be a safety net for people but this shouldn’t be the norm.

By that theory I shouldn't have to pay taxes that go towards schools b/c I don't have kids or any other number of things this recluse doesn't give a **** about b/c I'm not benefiting equally. Every country is a union shop Joey, it has to be and you know this, so maybe you should stop getting selectively outraged by it and instead of calling gov't spending you disagree with theft call it a policy you disagree with.
