In the house a rep is one of 435 Meaning to get anything done requires compromise, I'd vote for someone like Cortez (so long as they understand compromise) to drag that legislation left.

Trump absolutely did the same thing. And Cortez is in a position she should be in, representing her group of people that support her directly. She will either learn the game or not. Trump is such a unique case in every aspect. I am not sure we see it again. If I were a struggling NY'er, I would love her too. But from afar, it's easy for me to say, "move away if you can't afford NY. Nobody can afford NY".

I wouldn't have voted for Bernie for the same reason. Senator? Yes please. President? No thanks.

it is very easy to move. I have done it plenty of times. My point is, if you can't afford the city you live in, there are tons of other places you can move to. Life is all about choices man. If you want to live in NYC cause your family is there, well, figure it out.

If NYC wasn't so expensive, I would be living there. But it is. So I don't.

sure it does. So does living in NYC haha. In fact, to move, it costs you about 15 days of rent for an average apartment in NYC.

Life is all about choices. You would recoup the moving costs within a few months by moving somewhere around the national average in living expenses.

I am not even sure why you are going after this tangent. Cortez want's higher pay for NY'ers. Got it. That will cause things to become even more expensive than they already are, or it will create a squeeze in the labor market and jobs will be lost. Small businesses are the victims of costs in NYC everyday.

If you want to live in a city like NYC, you either need money or you live off nothing. Is what it is.

it's funny man, I can relate to almost anyone here. I WAS Sluggo for some time. Or at least I prioritized fiscal/monetary matters over social/environmental for most my adult life to date. The last 1-2 years, my priorities in level of importance have changed quite a bit. Having a daughter probably, then Trump being elected. It just pushed me to do a 180 on what I care about most when it comes to politics, etc.

You are young, and want to save the world man haha. But that isn't a bad thing. At all. I will never let it go that you admitted you liked Rudy Gay's game though..

Of course, Ocasio-Cortez made campaign promises that she can't deliver.

Can you imagine a campaign where some candidate only offered deliverable promises?

Americans love to be deceived. In fact, we are eager to be deceived. I would say it is a national passion.

But his point was that she would not get re-elected because someone else would come up with more outlandish claims (maybe something idiotic like making america great again). We do have limits to our gullibility. Oh, wait. We don;t do we?

As for her policy ideas, your right that her chances of enacting all the progressive reforms are slim. I like her passion though and that fact she is a polarizing figure which is kinda needed with the media whore that's in the oval office.
