It is kind of funny, in sports you always are excite to watch rookies grow into their position, this is the first time I have experience that watching politics. Most of the time if not all the time, the congressional newbies tend to be under the radar. The last mid-term elections, we had a large number of women, our first two Arab women, and maybe a couple of native Americans. With that many new voices, I knew things will be said that weren't normally given voice to congress. And I watch to see how it would be voiced, the react it got and how they response to it.
I think Ilhan Omar had the most trouble, due to her inexperience and not being naturally born into our culture. She stumble badly but for a good cause. Just to have a voice from someone who has been on the other end of our foreign adventure is a good thing. Of course that sort of opinion wouldn't be tolerate in congress, and it wasn't. I hope she have the time to devolpe. Rashida might be to close to her homeland in the sense she feel their pain deeply and clouds her actions. Calm down, take a big breath and take it slow. Ayana Pressley, probably the most political experience of the four, but I can see her flipping to the moderate. Not because of her experience but just a feeling I have for her.
Katie Porter, fiesty, firey , high intelligence, great debating skills and was well schooled by Liz Warren. She is so relatable I know waitresses, of course with less education, that had her temperament. Can swear like a sailor. I could take a long road trip with her because she have a down to earth salty humor. She feel like the person you have work with, party with or just shoot the crap with over a campfire.
Interesting group, and I actually started watching congressional hearing. So for that change I thank them for their contributions.
Enough about special.
Greene represent what I fear would take over the republican party. The more racist, illogical blowhards of their party taken control. Liz Cheney is very right about the threat that people like her pose for our country. I admit the left can be out there, but they wouldn't turn facist like these malcontent would. They would literally stomp on the constitution to get what they want. The revival of white supremacy and shutting down those who oppose them. The south will raise again.
I really believe Brewers isn't a devotee to that, but his words on what he want from the next republican presidential candidate, to instill fear into Democrat and face down the media fit their agenda. I don't know if he is aware how dangerous it is to introduce fear tactic into politic and suppressing the press is to our democray But that is were we are, people who are willing to enforce their will on politic and damn the Constitution if it get in the way.
It is because of this movement, I gone soft on dissing Biden and Pelosi. I don't like them, but they are better than what is stirring in the republican party. Those damn crazies arse racists push me back into the moderate camp as in supporting them. The crazies on the left, like Jimmy Dore, don't realize the danger these people represent and continue to roast the progressive officials for working with Biden. Still bitterly attacking the moderates. I always said, there are crazies in all political camps. It is time for all the rational members from different parties to circle the wagon against these people, not play them for political gains. They are to volatile and pig-headed to deal with. Trump tried, and lost control of them thus they raided a few state capitol building carrying guns, always good to bring to protest, and graduated to the Capitol Building. Plus that plot to kidnapped the governor of Mich. that was stop, isn't a good sign on where we are going.
I knew the twenties will be a barn burner.
You're right. Now I'm just being a bully.
I understand your point and i don't want to do what a lot of people did with Trump and expect ignoring radical viewpoints to make them go away.
I think AOC is setting a good example. Debating her would add credence to her. Acknowledge her but don't roll around in the mud with a pig.
But also they should be mocked. They should be demolished in the as few words possible. But simultaneously they should be shown a fool.
And this is also why Biden pushing an agenda that helps these poor areas is crucial (not just white areas obviously). I honestly think the crux of all this is just frustration with government and being too ignorant to see the big picture.
The only thing I disagree with you is you think Trump lost control. He never did.
Oh and Dore realizes it. He's just a damn grifting *******. Leftist Limbaugh. Pedaling hate.
It's so obvious in his AOC rant. He didn't care about M4A. He felt he gave AOC a big push and she owed him one and she let him down. Dudes a phony ***.
And TBH most of the leftists shunned those people. If anyone not that radical is a moderate then Chomsky must be a moderate too. I think Chimsky really puts perspective on this. If you get a chance listen to his debate with Joy. It really shows Dore and her aren't "far left". Just spoiled brats.
Honestly progressives should be proud. Their voice did make a difference. It'll never be as far as we like. But we keep working toward that direction.
Edit: Better a barn burner than a cross burner.... or tiki torch burn... you get it....
if you thought you had a point you wouldn't need the last past, that is what I have come to expect from the left, hate and deflection.
Trump should have nothing at all to do with this, either AOC deserves to be criticized for something or not, forget Trump.
whenever I bring up something about AOC there is always this need to defend her rather than agree with me. that is mentally disturbing.
any time I criticize her, the reply is always an argument against whatever I'm saying.
I just provided something yesterday.

this is the same person that blamed a Republican, when in reality it was a Democrat.

Wasn't dissing you for it, but keeping the guy out of the conservation. No rent space here.
The barn burner comment was more about the times we are living in. Unrest, violence and mass dis-trust of government on both base side. If we are echoing any time in our history (I think Biden thinks so as well with his FDR reference) , I would pick the early thirties, depression, a lot of criminal, both organized and random, corruption, distrust of the government to solve social problems. Racism was very strong and scumbags, like Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin used that racism to raise to power. We were lucky we had FDR, he may not be able to stop the racism of the KKK, but he didn't use it to raise to power. He didn't empower racism.
we were lucky that when we did have a President who used racism to gain power, that he was to self-absorb, and self-serving idiot to be effective. He made to many blunders for me to think he masterminded the violence that came out of his base. He isn't a visionary or a radical or following any doctrine that didn't benefit his bottom line and ego, like the scumbags of history I mention.
Hitler was consider a loud mouth idiot, they didn't take him serious when he was coming up the ranks. Oh, there were few who saw him for what he was, the intellectuals, some Jews left Germany. But politicians flock to him to ride his wave to power, big business supported him cause he attack the socialists and communist, and brought money into their coffer, the malcontent follow him for the chance to put the Jews in their place, and the naive citizens saw him as a forceful leader to right their world. In hindsight we revile him, but in his early days, he made the Time man of the year and had followers in America and even members of the British royal family.
I can see our racist base doing the same thing all over again. We can't afford to think what happen in 1930's Germany can't happen here. This might be irrational minority fear talking, but someone like Trump beat out more intelligent, constitutional bound politicians back in 2016.
People like Greene are true believers in maintaining white supremacy not her bottom line. If debating her would pull her people to your side, I am all for it, but it won't. You can't beat radicalize racism with debates. Her base aren't seeking compromise or up holding the Constitution if it doesn't serve their needs. They are unreasonable. They are incapable of showing empathy towards the "other". Like Brewer they want to instill fear in the democrats (guessing their minorities base as well) and suppress the press if it don't serve them. She could come off as a fool debating AOC but that won't stop her supporters from supporting her, and hate AOC any more and consider her the loser. Debating Greene is useless and unproductive. I agree with you on this.
HaHa, to out there? That is ok. I know I don't have a positive outlook for the country that isn't share. It's cool.
There are many senators and congressmen/congresswoman who are low intelligence. Why don’t you also obsess about them? Do you think MTG or Boebert deserve less attention from you based on the amount of criticism they deserve over AOC?
