This is not remotely true. People rested on their laurels because they thought the vaccine was the end all be all of the virus so mask mandates went by the wayside, social distancing took a big backseat, etc. Its only the exact same place for those who are unvaccinated. Yes, Omicron is less virulent but far more infectious so the added number of cases play catch up with the death toll. You just had 2,100 deaths the other day. That's the most since October 1st and well before Omicron was detected here in the states.

Point is: the Covid mitigation measures worked, they always have. You think because cases are skyrocjeting all the same everything was equal, it wasn’t. States like Alabama and Mississippi who did nothing are top 5 in Covid deaths per Capita, while states who took sensible measures like Oregon and Washington are in the 40’s.

The difference has been thousands of lives saved. But they never seem to count with you. You act like because we’re all here today it was exactly the same for every state, but it wasn’t. Americans died who didn’t have to because of your stubbornness to fight the culture war and not do anything about Covid.

What either state does is not of any concern to this conversation, which is specifically about what he did about Covid. You said he didn't do anything. I asked you what you did and you answered. Then I asked if you can confirm that he did none of the things you listed and you side-stepped the question.

So, I'll ask again, can you confirm that dbroncsinmo did none of the things you listed as doing yourself? Masking, social distancing, reducing large gatherings, eating out less, getting vaccinated and tested?

You're keeping stats. Lol. Florida is not an outlier at the moment. They are the norm. Have you checked NYC. They're doing worse.

Point being is that there are no protective measures from omicron. It does what it wants to. The positive is that in it's fight for survival it mutated is infrastructure to be more contagious while making it's effects much less in terms of effectiveness.. Im telling you man. Omicron is the new vaccine.

Yes, Florida is the norm... now. They weren't, several times. When they experienced spikes when most other states didn't. And Ciaban said that colder weather states would experience a spike in the winter while warmer weather ones, like Florida wouldn't, and it'd all even out... Except it didn't, because Florida experienced the same spike now, so they had spikes when everyone else did, and spikes when no one else did.

Sure, there are no protective measures for Omicron, but there were for Delta, and Florida chose not to do them. And it cost tens of thousands of lives.

Once again, lives you are completely dismissing and don't care about.

Its interesting out here in California. The lockdowns, mask mandates, vaccine mandates etc. have been the most restrictive in the country. And now the entire state is in chaos basically because of the shortage of health care workers who have quit, been fired, or are calling in sick. I had an appointment at the VA hospital this morning and the two nurses in the office were out sick. Later that day I had a test done at the Kaiser hospital and they were short staffed also. California's mandates and autocratic policies have done this and this state is a huge mess medically right now.
