How.. What would she have to lose?

I’m at a friends bachelor party so I don’t have time to break it down. But where I work they main h1b companies hire them and contract them out so you don’t have to pay them benefits. And they don’t offer many benefits at all either so the entire total all in loaded cost ends up being much lower.
And that occurs on top of undercutting of salaries when the market is already saturated. That was an interesting article you linked so it is possible there is some material benefit to smaller areas that have labor shortages.
But h1-b is a much smaller part of the problem. Offshoring is the biggest culprit. You can get those people for about 1/3 of the cost of a us based resource. I work for a Fortune 500 company and a ton of the big companies are offshoring a ton of the premium service industry positions (program management, finance, accounting, IT). They are doing this when we have no issues with overall profit but they are just pushing for more.
And on contracts that demand US citizens, they’ve gotten around that quark by looking to undercut the rates with Puerto Rican’s. I have no issue with using them if they were using realistic rates, but the rates they use are pretty predatory and toxic to both labor markets.
There really needs to be reform to taking advantage of companies outsourcing for cheap labor in the industries that are the bread and butter for American workers. We left manufacturing behind because we saw the service market as a better market for US citizens. The idea was cheaper products and us citizens going to the higher level paying jobs anyways (though fly over states got left behind to an extent). But now we are undercutting this new labor market and I don’t see the path to the next market for the US citizens to jump towards. It’s also well documented that these efforts are all part of what is leading to wage stagnation for the working class people.

She could do a bunch of things to achieve just that.
But demanding that she accept this random solicitation from Shapiro, who is not even approaching her in good faith, is incontrovertibly a stupid opinion to have. That should really be all that is needed here. She has no obligation, nor should she, to accept it. And I can not for the life of me think of an instance were the public has ever insisted on something like this. We would and we have NEVER held any other candidate for office to this standard. It's insanity.
Get over it. It melts my mind how dumb y'all are being about this.
A bunch of weirdos.
What large audience?. I never heard of this guy until he challenged her. He is just trying to make a name for himself. She did the right thing. He needs her more then she needs him. No, it is very strategic on her part. Only do things that help her cause.
Republican candidates do it all the time. They don't go debate leftist talking heads cause they have nothing to gain from doing it. How many times did Trump appear at Mexican churches to debate their leaders or black organizations, environmental groups or debate unions talking heads? OH NO, you don't call him out for not doing this, but a leftist?
Y'all expect liberals or leftist to jump thru extra hoops to gain a respect you, on the right, will never give them. So keep on bashing, because that is really what it is all about.
Y'all republicans have no integrity with this double standards.
There does seem to be a disconnect here.
On the one hand there are those who clearly dislike Ms. Ocasio-Cortez and chastize her for being a naive media darling whose exposure is way overblown.
And then there are those who clearly dislike her and condemn her for passing up opportunities to expand her exposure because she won’t debate some lame chode of a commentator.
What’s the old saying? “Sometimes, you can’t win for losing.”
Ben shapiro should stick to telling us how porn is bad and immoral
Random aside...Keith Rothfus, a 3-time incumbent (I think) who is now going to be running against Conor Lamb here (the Court's redraw of the districts essentially put Lamb into Rothfus' district so hence two incubants facing off) has almost gone two years without making a public appearance. He's never at his offices in his district. No town halls. No open forum meetings. Nothing. Zero interaction with his constituents for almost 2 years now. Remember a year+ ago during the Repeal and Replace health care saga and how many Republicans gave their constituents the cold shoulder? Republicans dodge their constituents all the time. No conservative in the world cares about that. But AOC doesn't accept this insanely stupid and unreasonable offer from 4 foot 8 inch Ben Shaprio, who is neither running against her nor a constituent? HOW DARE SHE!
I keep saying it, but this is one of the dumbest things ever discussed in this forum. The criticism of her from the right is one of the saddest examples of how hyper partisan people are and how it does nothing but lead them to getting all bent out of shape over the dumbest things. Like this. No reasonable person would care, let alone be upset, about a politician not accepting random solicitations for debate.
So be it. Now here’s your chance to put it out there: https://forums.prosportsdaily.com/sh...choice-and-why
