If we capped a retirement age for voting rights would the prohibit any people over that age from being able to be elected? It seems weird to me that you'd say people over 65 can't vote because of their mental capacity but then elect someone over 65 to office lol

65 is absurdly young.

If you want to have some sort of a test for anyone over 80, I could probably live with that.

I also wouldn't be against some sort of civics test for 18 year olds to vote. If we had one, the Ocasio kid would still be serving J&B on the rocks in some midtown Manhattan bar.

I still go back to the most basic competency test ever for voting. When you get in the booth, you are asked 3 questions. And they are as easy as it gets, like, "Who is the current VP?" If you can't get it, the booth turns off, a mechanical hand extends, slaps you, and you are locked out.

I mean, how much does a 35 year old remember from academic lessons?

18 is fine. No younger. I wouldn't be worried about older voters, sure there are a ton of them, they will go away in the next decade or two, and each bracket of ages will be equal again, ie, priorities will cancel each other out.

She didn't vote herself in... she would have still been voted in.

Perhaps it's a good thing there is no civics test to vote or you likely wouldn't get to.

What's your issue with Ocasio?

You stay having these wierd personal beefs. First it's the 9 year Olds Feinstein visited, now Ocasio, amongst others. What's going on? Are you just going grumpy old man status now?

I've seen it with my friends. The conservative ones go to Dailywire and watch Ben Shapiro and the Liberal ones watch CNN and I'm just watching each of them become more and more radicalized and hostile. It's disgusting.

My brother and his wife have lived in DC for years, and they are both very liberal (his wife borderline communist). When I visit, the constant conversations he/they have with EVERYONE there just wears me down. My god, your whole life doesn't need to live and breath politics and world events. Neither wants a kid because "how could I bring a kid into this world" ****. It's so annoying man. Luckily, my brother can relax when he is around those who don't care as much about politics, but a city like DC just breathes it.

I'm on Feinstein's side on this with these kids. They are totally wasting the time of a US Senator. One of 100. Ehe is a very important person (who I mostly disagree with) and doesn't deserve to have her valuable time wasted on this.

RE: The Ocasio kid. She has no business being there and being the media darling that they make her out to be. She is a stupid individual that is getting way more publicity than she deserves. And she too occupies a very important position. I find it irritating that she is there. She is a US congresswoman making a lot of money (with a staff) and is intellectually unqualified for that job. I get it she was elected so that makes it legal for her to be there. I think that speaks volumes about how uninformed her constituents must be and about how our election system is in general.

On top of all the harm she is doing, she makes our government look like a laughing stock to other governments around the world.

Quick question…say you have a family member taken to the emergency room after a bad auto accident and she pops in as the attending physician with her attitude and comportment…are you comfortable with that.

…say you own a business, you just hired an accounting firm and the Ocasio kid is assigned to head up your account…are you comfortable with that?

…say the Ocasio kid is the lawyer assigned to you fleony case in court…you confident with that.

…say you walk into a bar where the Ocasio kid is the bartender and order a bourbon on the rocks…you OK with that. I am.

Grumpy old man? OK. I preferred seasoned and experienced adult. But whatever.

Seasoned and experienced adults dislike incompetence and we absolutely despise wasting time (wasting time: see Feinstein, Diane, Senator, California talking to children fed questions by smarmy teachers).

I do like the Ocasio kid's latest idea though…the rope ladder to the space station. Take a little longer to get there, but it will be cheaper and not have the carbon emissions from the usual blastoff. We need to look into that one.

What a terrible response. If Ocasio was a qualified doc, lawyer, accountant, then yes of course I'd be comfortable with that. Why wouldn't I? The reality is she is not qualified for those jobs so in this reality I would not be comfortable with it, but neither is any other politician and so I would not be comfortable with any of them playing doctor either. I dont understand your point. And can your point also be applied to Trump? If so, why so much hesitancy to apply it on your part?

I still have yet to see what she's done to make you feel that way. Saying she's a big dumb dumb doesn't really convey much actual information.

Why do you keep saying the kids wasted Feinstein time? Didn't she go to that school of her own free will? If so, then doesn't that mean she wasted her own time? How did the kids waste it? Had they supported her instead of oppose her would you still feel they wasted her time?
