oh god yeah, it happens all over the place. If someone wants to be upset a hispanic woman is voted in from a hispanic heavy district, not sure what to tell them. Fat white men have been voted in by whites for a century. For being white and identifying with their party.
I remember when Obama brought out black voters, and even increased the percentage of black voters in the Dem versus Rep party, and conservatives were bothered by it. Like, why? Why wouldn't a black person vote for Obama, unless they were a steadfast Republican? Why is it wrong to vote for someone you can identify with?
White people do not vote strictly identity anywhere near the rate that minorities do. Same with males voting for females.
The overall point here (it case you can't possibly understand it) is that if you are voting identity, you are not voting the issues. Your vote is basically uninformed.
probably because whites have always been represented. White men especially. You and I have zero clue what it's like to be a minority or a woman, but I would imagine if you were in a country where you were the minority, and you felt the current regime didn't fight for you, the moment a white male conservative came available for voting, you would get to the booth as fast as George Costanza leaves an apartment on fire.
No, they have no idea. But they have also lived through generations of suppression, something we know zero about.
I am only trying to tell you WHY they vote for their own. Over time, if more minorities and women run for office, the allegiance to their own will quite down.
