I'm sure she was well aware of the requirements of the event. She's not a stupid woman and the event itself made it clear what the conditions were to attend. She went to a fancy party that costs 35 thousand dollars to attend (at minimum) in presumably a dress that cost 5 figures to make. As I said before by a designing firm that isn't even practicing the message she is preaching. If my principles were AOC's principles, yeah. I would turn down opulence that wasn't in line with my core values, especially things that are important to my most valued constituents. How do you think people in her district feel about her attending such expensive events when so many people in the Bronx live in NYCHA homes, need government benefits, and barely make ends meet?
