I believe strongly that important things often get done because of earlier efforts by those visionaries who had little or no chance of getting them done, but who still were willing to lay the groundwork for later success. I am not trying to lionize Ocasio-Cortez (nor I am denigrating Pelosi) because I don’t really know if she’s in it for the long haul, but so far — despite her missteps — she seems to have approached her job and her mission with some palpable integrity.
