You just can't ever understand any sort of context and just want to bash in the same way they have haha. The only reason you can't acknowledge what polls do/how it relates to the person I am responding to is you are a partisan hack who only wants to see things in sides so everyone with AOC becomes dumb/irrelevant to you.
If someone says that the wall has 0 support from republicans and you showed thousands of people via poll are supporting it that would go against the initial claim lol.
We are at the point where understanding what a poll is has become a partisan game lol
Oh wow the same old rhetoric from someone who ran away last time he tried discussing actual issues.
If you want to be a partisan hack incapable of understanding what support is or what polls measure or what the conversation has been about feel free.
I know 2nd graders who are more capable of understanding what a poll is for than you, special, fingerbang and dbroncs based on this thread (or you guys just obviously ignore context for the lame team game agenda).
This is all effects of media. The right got this idea that anyone who opposes them is fake news, and unknowingly that has been trenching them even deeper in their own brand of fake news, which they view as real news.
It's all the same mechanisms of defense and attack. Fox News is the opinions of a bunch of hypocrites, racists and bigots who simultaneously preach this is the land of the free and opportunity. The two views mathematically do not fit, you are either one or the other, so you will notice they all use the same mental manipulations in order to convince themselves that they still represent the American dream while still not having to abandon bigoted prejudice views.
Media really is something, the amount of control it exerts over people's opinions is incredibly high
I think the recent downfall of the left and it's media has distracted everyone just how far down th toilet the right has fallen. These young congresswoman have shone a light back on it, however
I mean it really isn't the media's fault that people are reacting in their every day lives or here on message boards this way. Knowing what a poll is would just be common sense but because so many are caught up in this team game/attacking those that differ from them it becomes some crazy thing where a poll can only be a poll if it agrees with them now. It's all about only one thing can possibly be right and that is my opinion/this teams opinion.
I agree that fox and cable news etc. push this defend/attack/team game rhetoric but no one forces people to adopt it on their own or anything. I think people underestimate how much the media is actually catering to the audience, not forcing the beliefs onto them. I have watched plenty of TV or played plenty of video games read many biased articles and when I was done I was able to still separate reality from racism/sexism/violence/attacking others/ignorance of facts or stats or science etc. I wasn't immediately brainwashed afterwards to the point everything said or done I had to follow.
That's not media making it translate into politics/everyday life/ignoring facts/ignoring common sense or context and so on, it's their own bias.
Just a guess, here, but I think you go to a charging station (it’s kind of like a gas station where you go now). I don’t know how much the technology will improve by then, so it might take a bit longer to “gas” up, but, hey, good time to relax. Have a coffee and donut while you are waiting — post some more rants about your Congresswoman.
Mngopher, you don't truly think that. You're just emotionally traumatized because your arguments are poorly made and simply triggered by your support for incompetent people. Polls only work if they are used in a setting that is consistent and unbiased. It's why so many polls were wrong when they predicted Trump wouldn't win. Why? Because people lied on the polls/incorrect setting for the polls conducted. Seriously, you think I ran away from discussing actual issues? I ran away because you WEREN'T discussing actual issues. You just reply for the sake of it. Probably because you think by replying, you are generating discussion when all you're doing is generating pointless replies that mean nothing. Sorry, buddy. Just like the Wolves suck, you do too, unfortunately. And it's funny you type that a second grader is more capable of understanding what a poll is. I see the requirement for mods here is very simple: Must be emotionally traumatized, triggered, ignorant, as left as possible, and stubborn to the fact that they are hypocrites when they run after Trump for being silly but then try to defend every position of AOC by saying she is "passionate." Oh boy.
Maybe she shouldn't be preaching about change when she is isn't doing it herself, then? And I don't see how your analogy translates. There are toilet paper that are more degradeable and can be recycled easier. She has many options in regards to that just like she does in taking plastic bags or no plastic bags. I guess you only pick-and-choose what you want to like in politics.
How do you know she isn't doing things to lower her environmental impact? This is the problem with your argument, you will never be satisfied. If she did the three things you called her out on you'd just call her out on 3 other things. This is generally done in an attempt to justify a person's lack of positive change.
If you discovered she has less of an environmental impact than you what would you say? Nothing. Because if she has any impact at all, you label her a hypocrite.
It's a tired, stupid argument. It's as inane as me saying "if you really cared about building a border wall how come you aren't down there right this moment building it yourself?"
I'm not the politician calling for a change with millions of supporters. I'm not the one who creates legislation. I'm not the one who writes a draft about changing the environment with 100% reduction of gas vehicles, fully environmentally friendly buildings, trains to replace airplanes as much as possible, and I'm not the one pushing for all of this in ten years. Ten years isn't a long time relatively speaking. I am seriously having difficulty on where you draw your analogies from. They aren't compatible. If she is in a position to debate legislation that affects billions of people on various degrees, she should be preaching what she says. And that doesn't mean she shouldn't take a gas vehicle or airplane when she needs to. It's the fact that she DIDN'T need to and still did. As for the border wall, let me just answer it even though it doesn't apply here: Because it's the responsibility of Congress (the people who are paid $200k) to work these issues out. It's not the responsibility of taxpayers to fulfill these issues and if so, we don't need the Congress to exist. This is just a poor argument.
