Was not happy to read that yesterday, especially with how close the event is. Sounds like they might move for Ortega to replace Holloway but not sure if they are going interim route again or not. Did anyone watch Bellator 198 this past weekend? If you like BJJ there were several first round finishes due to tap out. It was actually impressive.
Also Fedor KO'd Mir. I thought that fight would end like that but didn't think that early. Fedor has some pop in his fists. I am glad Chael Sonnen is not in the UFC. After the fight Sonnen had to go in the ring and he put on his WWE "American gangster" persona. It will not work with Fedor because he doesn't speak a lick of English so he was talking for no reason. Fedor had his everyday I don't care look on his face.
It is difficult to understand why Sonnen over plays things at Bellator because I do think he understands promotion very well and might be confused by who the Bellator audience is?
The event was solid but I already dislike Danis. Such a stud on the ground but so sloppy on the feet. Better work on that offensive wrestling. It is funny Sonnen talking crap to Fedor though, I am sure he understands some English but has no interest in **** talking. I dont see how Chael wins that fight, no way he can get it to the ground and his hands are very average.

Israel Adesanya vs The Spider should be interesting. I am thinking that Spider should hang them up soon but Israel is fun to watch.
Adesanya is one of my favorite fighters to watch. Hope he looks impressive here and catapults himself in to a top 5 fight.Quote:

Yea I loved watching GSP and I think he has to be considered the GOAT right now with what he has done and who he beat. He was a bit boring on occasion but I love grappling so it never bothered me to much. The mouth seems to be the sure fire way to get big fights so I do think GSP was done and ready to hang them up with that being a reason.Quote:

I think it is where espn saw the money to be.They don't care about the viewer because they have the market cornered now.We just have to hope streams run smoothly.I have to admit that,yes,the espn deal scares me a bit.
The espn+ app skyrocketed with accounts when UFC went exclusively to it. They are making money hand over fist but at what price to the fans that can’t pay that tho and now stream quality? Yes it’s only 5$ or something like that but last month it was free to watch on fox. I would be interested if PPV numbers take a hit on this and if the app subscription will make up for it.

Did you guys see TJ gave up the belt for popping hot? I think the giving up of the belt was probably a good Dana White suggestion because getting suspended a year will get that belt stripped anyway. I dont see it as a good gesture from TJ it was inevitable.

I tend to agree,that it is more a UFC move than something TJ did on his own.Holding the belt does no one any good,giving it up right away is the best outcome for everyone.
What do you all think of the Jorge and the direction he is going with saying he is only going to fight Usman (which he should) or Conor? I don't think Conor would have a chance really because of the size difference.
I agree that Conor/Jorge makes no sense. I am thinking the UFC won't give him Usman next and will have to gain another convincing win to force their hand.
I also think Conor makes the most sense at this point but its hard to tell what Conor wants to do anymore.

Diego Sánchez getting the HOF for the UFC just goes to show you how much of a joke it is. This decade he’s 8-9 and since his great start to his career where he started 17-0 he’s gone 12-12.
This leads me to Guida getting into the HOF. He went unconscious today against Miller. He too started his career in a great way 18-3 and then went on to go 17-16.
These are HOF careers????

Lawler looked incredibly unprepared,I was kinda surprised.He didn't have anything to offer really.
As for hall of fame credentials I think some sentiment is involved.Guida provided some exciting rounds during the time when the UFC was having it's breakout and I think thats where he gets consideration.
That was more to my point about the HOF. These two started there careers off extremely well. They were must watch tv and now they are not even close to what they where. I have trouble with giving a single athlete the pinnacle of individual honors with just having half a career that was dominant. DC could stop fighting after Miocic and he’s a HOF guy. His equal is going to be Sanchez and Guida in the HOF???Quote:
