go hawks
His numbers has been improving while month of January has been his best yet. Keeps improving. His D been great all season.
I see we have been linked to several bigs with deadline coming up. Capela, Dummonds, Bamba and Dredmon (why???). While Drumond and Capela would boost our D, they don’t fit our O scheme. Bamba only one that does. If you look at his numbers and his limited (thanks to Vureric) minutes his actually playing well. He’s younger and would cost less. He would be our best bet if we had to make a move...
Would be great if Reddish could avg 25pts/gm. Trae is eating points from Collins lol. That would make a deadly trio. You mentioned Wiseman as one we pickup in next draft, what about Edwards? This is coming from.a Tech fan. He looks like a legit piece to play alongside with Trae. We can find a big via off-season trade, if not by deadline.
It's been rumored that the hawks would like to acquire a Center and may trade Collins to get one. I'm a Bucks fan, so I have no stake in this proposal, but wanted to run it by some hawks fans to see what you think.
Hawks offer John Collins, Deandre Hunter and Chandler Parsons for Joel Embiid and Mike Scott. Sixers need to trade either Embiid or Simmons because they don't fit together. You get perhaps the best Center in the league.
If it was me, no way. I like Joel a lot but not for John. I don’t see why the Hawks would entertain the idea of trading Collins. He fits our system well. Just 22 who only gonna get better. Outside of Zion and Giannis, I wouldn’t trade John for any other young guys in the league. that’s how much I value him as Hawks going forward. Hey, by no means do I believe we could get Zion or Giannis by trading John. Just saying I don’t see any point of moving him.
I see a higher ceiling with Weismann. By no means am I down in Edwards, he’d be my second pick.
I would agree Weismann is also the Bigger risk, however drafting that high in the draft, you go with talent! And in this case talent fits with need. Even with Capela now a Hawk, there will be back up min at center and the 4 for Weismann. I don’t see a lot of min on the wing for Edwards with Huerter , Reddish, Hunter and a vet. I like Edwards, but I wouldn’t give him min over Reddish or Hunter, so his fit becomes tricky. So if we draft Edwards, I’d think we need a secondary move.
Good move getting Capela. He’ll improve the defense and give any center we draft, time to develop.
Got 2 more 2nd rd picks...
Young
Collins
Capela
Hunter
Reddish
Huerter
Very strong core moving forward...
Absolutely! Weismann is more talented and it takes the pressure off without him having to be a big contributor from day one.
I really like our roster! However Trae and perhaps Cam are the only players that I would pass on a player that has more upside. And Cam plays the two or three so it’s likely just Trae. We now have a lot of young talent, however none of that talent is good enough save Trae to pass on a more talented player.
So much so I think you could take more high risk upside picks going forward with positional needs rather than BPA.
Seems to have backfired for OKC and Sixers over the years, so like the way ATL and DAL are building around their style/strengths.
Think ATL are still looking for that skilled big body. Maybe Georges Niang or a proxy. A Jokic type from Europe possibly.
I think they both line up if the Hawks land #1. Weismann is big, athletic, plays D and hits 3’s. He’s a bigger, more athletic, better, John Collins. From the highlight videos he’s A weird combination of David, Robinson, Kevin Garnet, and Anthony Davis, according to perennial hater Paul Pierce. Paul went on to say the GM that passes on him won’t be a GM for long. Paul never gives complements to young players, so that means something.
To be honest while I think he has a high floor and the most upside, he is also the player that may just stay at his high floor. I can’t measure his desire, however the school thing is a question mark. While it was better for the NCAA for him just to walk away and not make it ugly, his team was willing to fight with and for him. So where was the desire to fight for his eligibility? That’s the question I have of him.
He’s still my pick if available. He also plays the one position that we do not have an offensive weapon at. I like Capela and would like to see Weismann play one year behind him. But I do not think Capela can be a consistent offensive threat, nor do I think he or Collins will ever play in all 82. Capela has played in 70+ games twice in his career and John once. So reasonably we can expect him to start at least 15-20 games his rookie season.
In closing we still have a need, he has the most upside, and the most talent. He’s my guy.
We have a lot going for us right now. While both Young and Collins been getting the spotlight, I really like what I'm seeing in Reddish and Hunter. Both look very promising especially Reddish as of late (thanks to Carter). I see a bright future with what we have now and adding another piece or two is just bonus! While Tree been very exciting to watch, I've been thrilled by the improvements of Reddish that I see a 20+/6/4 player in him with good D.
My question for you, SB75, what are your thoughts on finding the right SG to play alongside with Tree? Man, if we got lucky to get Wiseman I would be thrilled to sign Derozan...
Collins
Wiseman
Reddish
Young
Derozan
Hunter
Huerter
Capela (2 more yrs I believe)
Goodwin
Fernando
Bembry
Deep shooter (2nd rd pick)
Watching mock drafts on YouTube for the Atlanta Hawks and every time I have watched the Hawks in the mock drafts they would always end up drafting either LaMelo Ball or Tyrese Haliburton...honestly I would say Haliburton is more of a fit for the Hawks especially playing next to Trae Young, John Collins, Clint Capela, DeAndre Hunter, Cam Reddish, etc.
