well for those who were so adamant against tanking, it looks like you'll get your wish.... I can honestly say I have no idea what we're trying to do anymore. It's actually more depressing to think that we are going to be a 6th, 7th, 8th seed....rather than a team looking to rebuild through the lottery.
Well I'm thinking what if we s&t Teague for Jennings and sign Bynum that would be good but yes we still need a two guard like Corey brewer

Can't remember the exact deal I predicted for him but I think that CLE offer is somewhere around there. The Hawks can probably beat that number and remain under the cap but not by much without renouncing basically all of their FAs. Maybe a 2 yrs/$26M or 3-yrs/$40M deal that includes language similar to Brandon Roy's deal with Minnesota.Quote:

does Bynum even have knees anymore? i'd actually be ok with signing him, but im sure not going to expect much. If he plays more than half the season, ill be shocked.
Just a year ago he was the best center in the NBA. If we get half of that production, I'd be happy.
A healthy Bynum and we can actually compete if we play the rest of our cards right. He's much more polished offensively than Dwight.

If you ask for my opinion.... I think Bynum is better offesively, but,at the same time the offense has never Ben constructed around him, without Kobe. All that said..... Of you din't understand how DH changes the game defensively and on the rebounds, I can't explain enough about basketball in one post.

His health is a big risk for any teams to take...
I think I rather throw big money at big Pek than take chances on Bynum. Asik, I rather have but of course that only happen by making a trade for him...
As a die-hard Knicks fan, I can do without Bynum. It's frustrating not being able to see what your team could really accomplish, if they were all healthy. I'll take Asik over Bynum..easily. Availability is a talent and you don't want a guy you are giving 12 mil a year, not to have that talent.

That's why I said any deal for Bynum needs language similar to Brandon Roy's deal with Minnesota, which basically allowed to the team to rip up the contract without penalty if injuries prevent him from playing. And it looks like that's what Cleveland did in their offer to Bynum.
Hey are we suppose to play in the summer league. See this is what i mean i hope were on point i guess were not practising, because we don't have a roster. DF and Bud are all over the place there just winging it. I just hope they could get back on trap, and not loose sight of whats going on.
I looked up a few things on the CBA to see what exceptions the Hawks can use to get more cap room (tough to remember all of this stuff lol). Since the Hawks are under the cap, it looks like they can only use the mini-Mid-Level Exception, which is basically for the same amount as Demarre Carroll's deal.
If they use that mini-MLE to sign Carroll, renounce the rights to Deshawn Stevenson, Mike Scott, and Shelvin Mack, then let Nogueira and Schroder stay overseas, the Hawks will have somewhere between $14-17M in cap room. Add Teague's $6M cap hold, so that could leave them with $20-23M to do whatever they want with Bynum and Teague but they would also need to fill out the remaining four or five roster spots, likely with vet minimum guys.
