Sounds like we are trying to offer Deng a contract again. I'm not a fan of this, since I just see the Joe/Josh/Al/Teague 'we like our core' situation happening with Deng/Al/Teague/Millsap for the next couple years. Good enough to be a top 4 East team, not getting past the 2nd round.
The Hawks have re-engaged talks with Luol Deng, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. We heard earlier that the two sides had reached an impasse on salary for the veteran small forward.Quote:

Me personally I wouldn't tie up my money in Deng. Why pay Deng like he is "the piece" when in reality he's just "a piece", plus he's too similar to what the Hawks already have. The Bulls were desperate for players who could score and they still traded him. If I was going to sign any of the current FA's to the type of money Deng wants, it would be Monroe. The Hawks could definitely flip Milsap for some nice assets or if they wanted to team Monroe with Milsap and get rid of Horford's contract; Horford could land the Hawks sumn nice or start Horford and Monroe and allow Milsap to the super sixth man.

Deng is out of the picture, officially agreed with Miami, per Woj. Glad about that, but we still need to do something. Offer Lance a contract, Monroe, heck at this point try Bledsoe, maybe start trade discussions. Need to better this team.
