I want either one at this point. Starting giving them offers Ferry!

I do believe Monroe is a center that can play the 4 as he did last season ( Ala Tim Duncan). No I'm not saying he is Tim, but he can do some of the same things Tim does. So I would be very comfortable with him at the 5.
It is my belief with a Monroe signing that Al or Paul will be traded. If not remember Paul is only signed through this season, so it's not really blocking anyone to me. And Monroe can actually score when Sheldon could not.
Last Ferry cleared that cap room with someone mind. If it wasn't LBJ, Melo, or Bosh and the Hawks didn't have conversations with any of them to my knowledge, do you think Deng was the only plan? I think he still has a move left and I do believe it's Monroe.
Now this new Boozer rumor.......
I know he went to Duke and be effective in a smaller role for the Hawks . However of we are not making a trade, I don't see where he fits.
Boozer is useless to the long term (why not develop Payne instead of wasting another 1st round pick?), unless like you said, a trade follows. Millsap's future to the team needs to be figured out soon. Does the Hawks want to pay him and pretty much tie up the cap space on Teague/Horford/Millsap or do they want to lose him for nothing? Need to trade him now for highest value.
We still need a starting wing IMO. Also hopefully Dennis is our long term PG, but is Teague who we go with at PG now? Horford still at C, and if so, we still need depth there just in case Horford gets hurt again. So many questions still needing an answer (on top of it all, still need the franchise player), so the team isn't anywhere near contender.
I'm just confused. Why not make parsons an offer? The worst he can say is no. I still don't understand the need / want for Monroe. If Heyward gets a max, then Monroe will be getting very close to a max. I don't see the hawks opening the piggy bank for a need that we don't need at the moment. We might as well save the money for next year.
I realize that I'm confused as to why we didn't offer him a contract.
And it's not really farfetched that Monroe will get a max deal. I'd be surprised if he didn't. Parsons got 45 and Heyward got 63. Monroe will get 63 or somewhere in between 45 and 63. Ferry doesn't seem willing to spend big money.
From what the article says...... ferry is reluctant to give a player he doesn't see as a star over 10 mil per. I like Parsons a lot, but I don't think he's a star, so once Parsons got to the 15 mil range, it was not in line with what the article said.
I do think Moneoe can be A fringe star. He's a big that can post and demand a double team. However he is not a star right now! I personally would not go to 15 mil per unles it's front loaded to get Det not to match. 15 the first season and going down from there is doable ( that's what I mean by front loading) but per is not for me and I don't think he will get that. Missed in all the talk around the NBA about lack of low post scores, is the fact that you have to have a system that allows for that. We have that system! Det like other teams do not.
I wonder if that 'Ferry won't pay someone 10+ mil unless they are a franchise player' will be fact when the Hawks' treadmill self faces Millsap's free agency. Can't wait to see what happens, will we go back to becoming the 'we love our core' Hawks and try their best to spin Millsap as a 'franchise guy' or will they grow a set and improve the team by saying 'pass'?
I don't think Paul resigns next seasons, I believe that's why they drafted Payne. As for the core argument, everyone needs to remember that the first thing DF did when he got here was start breaking it up by trading JJ and then not resigning Josh. Not saying he doesn't view keeping the current core guys as a necessity, just that the keep the core mentality was apart of the old regime not the current. We have also read that we've shopped Al, selectively, but shopped nonetheless.
Anyone want to take one or two year flyers on Micheal Beasley or BJ Mullens?
Beasley no and BJ would block payne and the other young guys from meaningful min
I'M Pretty sure Payne will play center/PF he is the usual player that we draft to play two different position
We'll the Cavs just included Wiggins in there latest proposal for Love ( as I said they would). It's Wiggins, Bennett and a first. We should offer Al and take back whatever contract they don't want for Wiggins..... Come on GS or Chi, get Love!
We are going to be in the same situation as last year really. If Horford goes down, the team is screwed. Antic and Payne with Horford and Millsap (maybe Muscala as well) are the big rotation as of now.
If Korver gets hurt, we are yet again screwed. No wing player on our roster is a consistent scoring option outside of Korver. Our #1 need (outside of a star player) coming into the off-season was an upgrade at the wing position. We had the chance to draft a few (Hood, Young, etc) but instead passed for a stretch 4/5. Then got turned down left and right in free agency, leaving us with no upgrade, anywhere. Same stuff, different year.
Love is my favorite player in the league outside of the Hawks, and would love him on the Hawks. But back to reality and this situation, I don't want to see him on the Cavs for 2 reasons: 1, Hawks and the East would be screwed, and 2, I don't want to root for Love on the Cavs with James and crew.
So with this rumor, I hope Minny gets hard headed, or the Warriors finally include Klay as a counter attack and they accept that deal. That way, Wiggins for Horford. :)
Guys we are screwed any way like silver & Black said we are the same team no upgrades, but one more thing the east just spreaded a little and now were on the outside of the playoffs looking in. Then we couldn't even get boozer who i didn't want any way but it's the point WE CAN'T GET ANYBODY it's just crazy SMH
We got kent bazemore.
Yeah for us!
BTW, one thing a Horford deal for Wiggins have going for it, is that we are not trying to unload a bad contract with him, like Minny wants to do with Love (K-mart). Cavs would have to trade more players in that deal, to meet the cap of Love and K-Mart. If we had what it took to trade Horford, I just want Wiggins in return.
Dennis and Wiggins is all I'm asking for the future of the team to look brighter.
I would love that but Cleveland would not want horford coming off an injurie
I would rather trade Horford, Milsap, you name it, for young players and draft picks. Just tank. Tired of same ol BS. Don't want to be a "ok" team like we have for last decade or so. Ready to start rebuilding....

Is a trade in the works? Could J.T get traded?
^I hope Dennis is our future star PG, my favorite Hawk ever since they drafted him. Love his attitude and ability. His turnovers can be a cause for concern, but still developing to the NBA game.
we need to do something we have a log jam at PF/C position and at wing player with no certified star ready to take over.
I was reading 'Atlanta Hawks: Is Dennis Schröder Ready For A Bigger Role?' on FanSided for iOS and I thought you might be interested in reading it too. http://hoopshabit.com/2014/07/20/atlanta-hawks-dennis-schroder-ready-bigger-role/
Doesn't mean anything. Teague May get traded next year.

I was reading 'Should the Atlanta Hawks Make A Late Push for Greg Monroe?' on FanSided for iOS and I thought you might be interested in reading it too. http://soaringdownsouth.com/2014/07/24/atlanta-hawks-make-late-push-greg-monroe/
Supposedly today there is a rumor going around that the Hawks are working on a sign and trade for Monroe, giving up Millsap and Korver in the process. I.......wouldn't trade Korver in that situation unless we are getting KCP back too.
Who is the source on this one?.....
If true, others would have to be enclosed unless the hawks plan on giving Greg 15il a year. Which I wouldn't do and I want him.
I can see how this trade helps both teams if it is Greg and KCP for Paul and Kyle.... It would allow Det to move Josh back to the 4 and have Kyle stretch the floor at the 3. It would give the Hawks the best low post big they've had since Kevin Willis and an athletic (compared to what we have) 2 or 3 that should be able to defend and knock down open 3's.
Supposedly it started on 92.9 the Game, a thread was started on the Hawks fan site yesterday about it, Hawksquawk.
Bucks were shopping Ersan Ilyasova before draft. Marc Stein listed a bunch of teams that had some interests as in Magic, Hornets, Hawks. But Magic signed Frye. Not sure what the Hawks would of offered? Bucks did have interested in Teague last year since we were the team that offered him a contract when he was RFA. Maybe you guys moving on from Teague and ready to start Schroeder? I'm sure you would want a little more then just Ersan for Teague though.
Wondering if D.ferry thought a bout bringing in Michael Beasley? Or did he sign somewhere already?
With the trade finally made and them calling Wiggins a big guard...... I wonder if LaVine is available for someone ready to play now?
Also the Wolves are becoming the Expos of the NBA...... If you are good, you will eventually be traded. KG, Christian, Steph, Kevin,...... They trade there stars at some point!
Any one know how long we hold the rights to flip picks with BK? I know we have it next year, but beyond that?
I ask because there is a kid likely to head the 2016 draft that scouts are calling special. His name is Ben Simmons. He's already 6'9 with a 7 ft + wingspan. Scouts have compared him to T-Mac and a much more athletic Boris Diaw. While Diaw's name won't excite us a comparison with a healthy T-Mac should.
