Hawks vs Clips on NBA tv right now Summer League.
So far. Nogueira looks pretty solid. Of course, needs more developing, but looks like he could make the roster at least. Dennis looks ok, would like to see more commandment of the offense, but hey, its the first game, they'll be fine
Don't we have 3 days to match Buck's offer to Teague, which makes tomorrow last day?
Daniels look like Big Ben with the Afro and headband.
Didn't catch the game but apparently Schroder and Nog showed some flashes of a good pick-and-roll combo.
Over all it was a good game, there was mistakes made, but that is why they play the Summer League.
Schroeder was ok definently can pass, and Nogoria is to light needs wait but very athletic as far as catching oops and very active as far as shot blocking. Jenkins is a good jump shooter and Scott and muscala have good jump shots. No one else looked like anything, but the 7"3 dude played ok reminds me of George merson slow and big. Again no one else looked like they'll make the team.
It's definently a tank year I guess looking forward to the draft not going to be able to win more the 15 games
How is it a tank year with Millsap,Lou Williams,Korver,Horford, and maybe Teague? This certainly wasnt our starting five if that's what you tight. Currently, this is at least a 7 or 8th seed. We still have moves to make as well. Gotta look at the overall picture

According to Atlanta Journal-Constituation's Chris Vivlamore (via Twitter), the Hawks will match the Bucks' four-year $32MM offer sheet for Jeff Teague.
This makes me happy. It was an easy contract to match.
Lol Teague gonna be pissed. He already had his bags packed
Great to see Teague back in Atlanta. He brings an increasingly positive game to the pg position. I don't have the stats in front of me, but he seemed to look for his shot a lot more by slashing and getting to the hoop. If he can continue to get better by limiting his turnovers, I don't see why he can't be a starting pg on a playoff team. Let's hope some of those draft picks work out to add depth to a much changed Hawks team...
Glad me and Ferry see eye to eye regarding Teague. Looking forward to him developing under a coach with 4 championships to his resume. Assistant of course.
well.... let's see what this season brings
He'll help us stay a little competitive but no wing players
I think Jenkins could have a breakout year if he wins the starting SG spot. Lou will of course get monster minutes but I'm intrigued by Jenkins. Is this the currently expected lineup?
Teague/Dennis
Jenkins/ Williams
Korver/Carroll
Millsap/Scott
Horford/rookie?
I'd really like to see a starting SF and a backup pf brought in at minimum. That or a shot blocker at center off the bench.
We still have a few moves to make. Maybe get Gerald Generation, or a starting SF. I think Korver could play it, if so then a SG.
Korver and his 6'8 frame would be better in the lineup opposed to a small back court with Teague and Jenkins. Them we could pursue a starting SG . A bench of Louwill,Jenkins,Schroeder, Mike Scott, and a center would be pretty solid.
I agree but I was just liking the idea of Jenkins youth and upside. I think he can be a JJ redick type of player. The idea of korver and Lou both coming off the bench is exciting. If they could just find a two way wing I'd be thrilled. The problem is that if it's not Henderson it will probably have to be a trade. The fa market is dry.
afflalo, Shannon Brown, schved, Thornton, and derozan are all guys who might have lost their starting spot this summer.
I like what I'm seeing out of our pg...... Henderson would be a decent pick up, but I still don"t see us being a good team with him. I look at us as 25 to 30 win team right now.
This one, I don't get. But its only a one year deal.Quote:

Elton Brand is headed to Atlanta, agent David Falk tells HoopsHype. It's a one-year deal.
There arent any Dwade, kobe, or chris paul type players out there, so if we can get some guys in here that can help, im for it. As far as being a 30 win team, i think you're way off. Josh smith didn't help us win 14 games by his self, so a 14 win dropoff w/o him is a false perception. Millsap,Korver,a healthy Lou and some good coaching could make this a 45+ win team with the right pieces. Depends on who we add.
Larry Drew isnt our coach anymore. We have done new pieces and will likely add maybe 1 more starter. The style coach Bud wants to teach is better.suited for this team, instead of Drew letting Josh jack threes, and his minutes mis-management. We'll just have to see the final roster and what our starters will look like
Elton Brand he's like 50 what are we doing. We are just reaching now believe that he is coming here to just still a couple of dollars not hustle and play hard for what a team going no where fast. This is just a wierd offseson. Oh well good hawks LOL
Is there something wrong with pekovic why do we not snatch him up. Am i tripping or something is he not a good young center to have. Him and al wood be a good fit and he is like a brooser
Because Josh Smith added 20 more wins and swapping him for Millsap decreases those? Bringing Jeff Teague back pretty much wrapped a playoff spot up. I wanted to start Dennis but Horford/Millsap/Brand/Teague/Korver/Williams will make the playoffs, and I dare say a better all around team than having Smith back.
We are a playoff team, without a doubt...I think anywhere from a 5-8 seed...I wish we would sign greg oden..Anybody feel me on this?? lol
Damn guys, this was not a Josh Smith conversation.
You have to not only look at what you like about your teams roster, but the other teams that have improved and taken a step backwards.....
We also lost Devin, Zaza, and Ivan to this point......
From what I've seen in summer league, Schroder is not ready to start. He's raw, has the talent to get but not to start yet. He needs to get accustomed to the way we play basketball in the US as opposed to Europe. Too many finger rolls in the paint and sometimes he gets a little out of control and sloppy with the ball. Developing behind Jeff will be just what he needs to get time and transition.
Other than Dennnis, Jenkins has looked really solid. His defense looks improved and his points are coming from all over the floor, not just from behind the line. Nogueira is super athletic and looks capable on the offensive side of the ball. But his need to put on size can't be overstated enough. He gets worked in the low post on D. Mike Scott looks good, I'm hoping we keep him around. And Muscala looks good too. He has really nice touch, and looks more ready to play in the league than Nogueira right now. I expect Lucas to play another season in Spain before coming over.
