Diamondbacks Reportedly Listening To Trade Offers For David Peralta
Are we interested?
Where would we put him here? Or is this insurance in case we lose Conforto? I don't think he can play CF
left field or right field. Not saying he is a perfect fit, but this team needs to look at the trade market if some of these players aren't coming back.
Not a bad idea and people don't ever really complain about having "TOO MUCH DEPTH" but my worry/concern is that Peralta won't be cheap for "security" piece.
He's 32 this year. Conforto is 28. Conforto has a better fielding % in LF. Conforto has more career HR, but Peralta has more career triples. Peralta has a higher BA .287 vs Conforto .258 career wise.
I dunno, if Peralta were 28 as well, maybe. Peralta is owed 7.5 million this year and 7.5 million in 2022. Conforto is owed 12 million this year.
I don't think I would pull the trigger on this one. Peralta has played 3 seasons over 100 games out of 8 seasons. Not sure if due to being hurt or a 4th outfielder.
I'd prefer a good CF though.
I would like to trade for the rights to clone Jacob DeGrom.
Then we can clone him 24 times and have the best pitchers, hitters and fielders in the game.
June 7: Will D-backs make Marte available?
Sitting in last place in the National League West with a 21-40 record, the D-backs are already looking ahead to the Trade Deadline. Rival executives told FanSided’s Robert Murray that outfielder David Peralta is among the players Arizona has made available. The 33-year-old is owed $7.5 million in the final year of his contract next season. Veteran infielders Eduardo Escobar and Asdrúbal Cabrera, who both can become free agents after 2021, could also be available.
As Murray notes, the team’s most enticing trade chip is center fielder Ketel Marte, but it’s unclear if he’ll be put on the trade block. Marte is 27 years old, and Arizona could retain him through 2024 if it picks up his two team options for a combined $18 million ($8 million in ‘23 and $10 million in ‘24). He’s owed $8 million in 2022.
Since the beginning of 2019, Marte has produced a .325/.378/.554 (140 OPS+) slash line with 38 homers in 212 games, bouncing between second base and center field in that time.
Not sure what it would take but I am interested.
Mauricio/Baty/Alvarez to start

Therein lies the issue. If Nimmo or Conforto were healthy we would be ok in the corners. Smith and one of the of defensive specialists could handle LF and CF can be a combo of Pillar and others for the rest of the year.
What is the the big question - will either Nimmo or Conforto be able to play within the next month. The reports don't appear to be promising. If not, then we need to replace one of them. I don't think Conforto will sign with us after this season given his agent and the fact that they will try to get paid as if Conforto had a full year of service in 2021. You know Borass will want to use 2019 and 2020 as the normalized Conforto results. Let him see what he can get elsewhere, then maybe he comes back to us to see if we'll match or better the offer. But I think Nimmo needs to be penciled in as the RF for 2022.
I would rather spend more with BAL for Anthony Santander if he were available, or Cedric Mullins, but their price would like be off the charts right now.
What about Donaldson? He is owed quite a bit the next two years so he should be cheap prospect wise.
We need a quality starting pitcher and would love to get a CFer. But since I have no idea who any of the players are any more I have no suggestions
I think the Twins would be happy just to unload him
Donaldson would be a cool acquisition.
I think the priority should be starting pitching and third base. Center field somewhat further behind.
Candelario and Boyd would be an interesting package deal from the Tigers. Robbie Grossman has been mentioned a lot, too.
If the reds were willing to trade Castellano, Miley, Castillo, Gray, or Suarez, I’d definitely consider that too.
I doubt the Orioles move Means or Mullins but they’d both be great option. Santander and Mancini would be good acquisitions too. I see Mancini staying out, though. Coming back from cancer and kicking *** probably has him as something of a folk hero in that clubhouse.
Maybe call the Mariners about Seager, too.
Dbacks have Ketel Marte who would be super valuable. Escobar, Peralta, and Locastro are all other interesting picks.
Giants have a lot of nice pieces but I think they’re legit and won’t sell. Having Zaidi at the helm must help.
Kyle Gibson or Mike Minor from the Rangers? Go ahead and grab Gallo or somebody while you’re at it.
Probably a lot of other guys but I wonder if there’s a trade to be made with a contender. Maybe trade a pitcher to the Astros for Aledmys Diaz, or something. I’d like to see something sooner rather than later, though.

SP is going to be a must, especially considering how often they push Carrasco's return back. You need a prayer for any relevant Syndergaard return as well. Would love to get a CFeer or a 3rd baseman but we'll see.
Two guys who I’d keep an eye on
Max Scherzer - final year of his contract, Nats are out and likely want to recoup some of that salary as well as grab a prospect for a rebuild
Mitch Haniger - he’s got another year left on his contract, I can see him being a Conforto replacement
I don’t think they care, I don’t think we have a massive rivalry with them like we do with the Phillies.
I’m sure lots of teams will be inquiring, hopefully the remaining salary scares them off
A playoff rotation of Degrom, Scherzer, Stroman, Walker with Syndergaard in the pen is terrorizing
Part of me wants Bartolo back.
scherzer/means or gibson we would probably have to give up alvarez for means or scherzer but maaaan we would have one of the best rotations ever.
If the Nats do indeed want to trade Scherzer, then the Dodgers, Padres or White Sox would get a better return than the Mets could give .
Also, the White Sox really want to win a WS for Reinsdorf who is getting on in age and Scherzer would be a perfect fit for them.
What about Starling Marte from the Marlins ? Although when Nimmo comes back what do you do with Pillar and Nimmo ? Love Pillar . He reminds me of the old Mets like Backman and Dykstra .
I don’t know if we as fans can handle all that...I mean, we get rid of the Wilpons, sign a mega contract, are in first place (driven by defense and analytics)
I think our heads would explode if we took on a player/contract like Scherzer and agreed to take on someone like Starlin Castro so we can give up lesser prospects...don’t know if they’d want to part with Trae Turner and his salary
I feel, something we didn’t expect at the beginning of the season to happen is going to happen
Scherzer's deferred payments is something I would hope Cohen would be willing to pick up. Not many teams would take that on.
The biggest questions I have are not the salary for this year but:
1. Certainly the deferred payments - I would not send prospects of any sort unless the Nats covered the deferred payments.
2. How injured is he now and will Carrasco and Thor be ready before Scherzer.
3. Even if Scherzer will be ready before Carrasco and Thor, how long is he expected to be on IL. You always have to add a month to that just because, you know, it is the Mets.
4. Do you really think the Nats will trade with the Mets being in the same division.
I don't care how good Carrasco or Thor can be. They're no Scherzer. They're good and the difference maybe wouldn't be huge. But Scherzer easily becomes our #2 starter no questions asked. Whereas with Carrasco and ESPECIALLY Thor, that isn't a certainty
Mets have a solid rotation but could use a bit of depth. I don’t think Scherzer is the smartest addition because he’s hurt and would cost a bunch. I’d rather pivot to another starter like Boyd, Mike Minor, or another #5 guy that can also function out of the bullpen. Mets don’t really need pitching but having more could never hurt. I think trades for some no name fireballers that could take a 40 man spot are more likely...or more Nick Tropeano types, I suppose.
If the Mets go after anybody, it should be more hitters, honestly. At this point, it’s smart to just wait until the deadline because there will be a much better idea of when guys like Carrasco, Syndergaard, JD, and Nimmo will be healthy. It’ll be nice to see some of those guys coming back but an upgrade at third base definitely couldn’t hurt, turning Villar into a super utility guy.

This team lacks that dynamic middle of the order bat. Sum of their parts they should be better offensively and hopefully getting some of these guys back healthy will do that but they could really use a Devers, Acuna, Tatis type. I know those guys are basically untouchable but its the one thing they don't have that many of these other WS contenders do.
Let's pray deGrom stays healthy and they get back some of these SP because that's going to be the tradeoff.
Mullins, Marte, someone along those lines would help though. Just don't know what the price would be in terms of prospects. Probably a lot.
is there someone out there like carlos delgado a bonafide number 4 hitter thats what this teams need.
