That (Jacoby's homerun) is a perfect example of why bunting is stupid. Why take away the chance he hits it out for a free out? Sure, if he grounds out or whatever the decision to not bunt doesn't look as glaringly stupid but the idea remains: why give a free out when you have the chance to get a hit?

I'm a bunting maniac in the Show, or basically just about any game for years. I hate GIDP so much, and it feels like any time I get someone on base that's exactly what the next guy does. Drives me nuts. Hell, I'm so bad at hitting if I get a lead off double my line of thinking is "bunt him to third, squeeze him home" lol, unless the hitter is a slugger. Pitching is struggling across the league right now. They didn't get much of a spring training. Boyd has been **** though.
Which is fair. There is that balance between holding on, not getting what you want, and waiting too long. Avila's track record works against him in this case imo. His trades specifically have been less than stellar.Quote:
