So far so good in the first half. Conley is having a rough go of it.
Thankful to get the win with Conley having the game he had. Mitchell and Royce stepped up big time. Excellent game on the boards by Mitchell getting some key rebounds down the stretch.
man 1-16 from conley, 25% from 3, and giving up 31 ft's and we still win. I must say that everything that people worried about this from the offseason wasn't a problem this game. Mudiay was pretty good, only gave up 7 offensive rebounds, and our defense was pretty good. I can't believe Bojan came back into the game. I am curious if he misses any games
through one our defense has been ok, but our offense has just been terrible the past 5 quarters. six turnovers already. man the one thing I hoped with the new guys was that our turnovers would go down, but thats not been the case so far in this game. conley still has only made one shot so far.
we also can't rebound at all right now
ten turnovers already. just pathetic
11 turnovers and 8 fg's made. just incredible.
edit:8/24 btw
this game has been as frustrating as last years playoffs. its unbelievable that we can't stop turning it over.
we aren't going to break 60 through 3 quarters.
man Mike Conley hasn't just been bad he has been below replacement level bad out there. I can't remember ingles doing anything but getting smoked by lebron and turning it over. Jeff Green has done nothing buy miss shots and run into charges. The jazz apparently didn't read the report that said that all daniels does is shoot 3's. the thing I hated about the way this team was put together is that we have no one that matches up with lebron but Jeff Green. we have given up 11 offensive rebounds. I think I am going to bed instead of wasting my time in a 18 point game.
man if we played half this well last night we would have won. we are unconscious from 3.
man so many just bad turnovers tonight and Conley just can't stop fouling so we are just seeing way to much of Mudiay.
this is going to be our 4th game in a row of incredible defense and our 3rd out of 4 games of unbelievably bad offense. still time to go, but this looks like a loss.
our next 4/5 games are BRUTAL as well.
man conley has to be on about his worst 4 game stretch ever at this point
what a win. Jazz are lucky that the Refs completely ****ed up the game clock at the end of the game. Jazz made 33/40 ft's with rudy hitting 11/12 in a 1 point win.
I'll take the win. Bojan has been amazing so far. Really glad we got him instead of The guy who needed up overseas. As bad as Conley has played to be 3-1 I will take it. And we are always slow starters. But definitely need to get the TOs down but I think that's to be expected with all the new players on the team. It'll get there, I have faith in that.
wasn't against a very good team without kahwi, but you can only beat the team your playing and we beat them pretty good. Conley finally had a good game. just a side note, but its kinda of incredible that Royce can play 24 minutes and not even take a shot.
I have never seen a team get so many layups and dunks against this team. only reason this isn't a complete blowout is that the kings can't make their 3's.
I knew we would blow this game. its unbelievable that we just can't stop turning the ball over. I am also getting tired of quinn's late game plays. its always just donovan doing something. its never something actually creative. the turnovers and 11 offensive rebounds. we just can't get to the rim anymore. Conley still wasn't great this game. man the turnovers this teams creates on itself is something special.
Yeah the turnovers have absolutely got to get corrected. It is out of hand. Hell, had 7 in the first quarter. And like you said a bunch of them are the kinda stuff you wouldn't see on a HS varsity team. Now I have seen Quinn be very creative at end game type plays but almost anything other than a Mitchell iso never ends well because nobody else can finish. Maybe he'll start using Bojan more in those type situations.
man I wish conley and jingles would fix their issues. Donovan is killing it out there, but missing rebounds and horrible offensive play is killing us.
Do you guys still think that Conley at $30 mil/yr is better than what Rubio brought at $15 mil/yr? My opinion is, Conley just isn't an upgrade over Rubio in any category other than scoring and with Mitchel being insanely ball dominant(and pretty damn good), the benefit of having a scoring guard like Conley will be greatly negated.
Good win last night. Mitchell has been great this season so far. Conley has got to get it together at some point right?
man I wish the Jazz could figure out how to not turn the ball over so much. like you can make and miss shots, but they just throw the ball away so much its infuriating.
the offensive rebounds have been an issue as well. like against the bucks your going to give up a couple, but we can't be giving up this many. sucks conley was killer the first half and has been a complete no show the 2nd half.
I take that back about conley. he has been a negative the 2nd half with so many bad turnovers.
Jazz did just enough tonight and against a team like this you have to take it.
also I critized him after the kings for the play design, but I thought the first game winner was a foul on Donovan and the 2nd was great to use donovan as a decoy to get Bogey a great look.
I cannot express in words how glad I am we ended up with Bogey instead of Mirotic. Bogey has that it factor and is so much more than a spot up shooter. I thought Conley was out biggest off-season addition but it's Bogdanovic by a mile and I think that would be the case even if Conley wasn't playing the worst basketball of his career.
man if you really look at our schedule so far we have played the following adjusted net rating teams #1, #2, #5x2, #7, #9, #13 and #22x2. our SOS has the other teams as .595 which is pretty impressive when you consider that we are 6-3 and have played the kings twice.
btw our upcoming schedule is #29,21,30,18,18,29,25 for the next 7 games. we need to go 6-1 maybe 5-2 in these upcoming games.
Our adjusted defensive rating is #1, our non adjusted defensive rating is #2. our adjusted offensive rating is #23, and our non adjusted is #27.
I think honestly if we just hadn't lost the kings game we would be in awesome shape.
really solid win against a not very good team. offense looked great and honestly didn't think our defense was that bad they just made a crap ton of tough midrange shots.
well we won, but the defense wasn't good enough tonight. However our offense was pretty good when you consider we went 6-26 on 3's. Have to give a little pass for this being a back to back with a huge travel between.
A win is a win. And we have started out well and the team IMO is nowhere near a well oiled machine at this point. As good as we are playing right now I can't wait to see this team after the All-Star break. By that time everyone should be settled in to their respective roles. Also, I love that Rudy comes back every year with a little more on the offensive side. If he can just be passable on that end it'll make the team so much better.
Yes!! He is so awesome. Bogey fits Quinn's system perfectly. We could have easily kept Favors and added Conley. Wow, what a difference. His game compliments Spida well, and brings Joe off the bench. When Ingles was getting too many minutes he struggled. I saw this interview with Bogey and he was smiling about how many open shots he gets in this system.
