Any news on Florial? Seems like he is falling into the Mason Williams class of a raw, toolsy OF that hasn’t progressed but still has outstanding wiry strength and speed. Does he end up getting a shot?

Seems like nearly every prospect that cashman has refused to trade over the last few years has flamed out with injuries , only Torres and maybe andujar are the exceptions .
From what i've heard/ read about Florial is that the Yanks are pretty convinced his floor is a 4th OFer. Whats going to make the difference of Florial being anymore than that is going to be if he can learn to identify and hit breaking balls. He's striking out 35% of the time in High A, Florial is an extreme long shot to ever be better than a .225 hitter.Quote:

IMO its going to be extremely difficult for FLorial to develop a whole lot as a member of the taxi squad. I think his best hope of getting a full time job is probably with another team. While no longer able to headline a big trade he makes a solid 2nd-3rd piece
I'm glad we held onto Florial when his value was high. Also glad that the reason we didn't get Cliff Lee was bc we wouldn't include puppy for him.
