I'm surprised...I always got this blue collar, New Englander vibe from you! Where in Vermont did you live as a kid...I grew up in the Northeast Kingdom.

Do you mind my asking where you're at now...I'm kinda curious. If you'd rather not say, I of course understand!
  3. Nope, Nope , Nope, and one more , Nope......

I've lived in Vermont though and NH as a kid.

Maine? Rhode Island? New Hampshire? Not Vermont?!
  5. Just come back and fix grammatical errors for a week or so....

Haha...I absolutely can't stand some of the guys posting with increased regularity in here right now. I'm on a PSD-hiatus until at least after the Winter Meetings...or maybe a week or so after the first big transaction. The ridiculousness just gets oppressive after a while. Aside from that, I'm working to 3 different deadlines right now with school.

I miss you too, though, sweetie!
  7. Where you at now? I come back you leave... I need to throw in some more jokes about Tina and you.

That's great news about your sons. Congrats...and thanks for the vote of confidence.

If I end up doing it, I probably won't even be deployable until sometime in early 2011...since OCS and the subsequent branch training is like a 6 month process. We shall see.

Skirt chasing...haha! Life at 18-20 is pretty ridiculous.
  9. My brother was the Ranger,(fort benning) my nephew couldn't hack it. My best friend was a marine. NO, I never served no wars , no skirmishes , no nothing going on, had it , I would have been there.

Just to serve nah. More about action for me. My friend wanted me to go in the buddy system with him after HS. I was still playing two sports and wanted to go to school. I was a skirt chaser and enjoyed it to much at that age.

Stay safe Afghanistan isn't a picnic.

I was joking about the Army - lots of my friends served in the Army. All got skills and good jobs after it too. Remember we were in the period after vietnam for me.

People hated the service until it went private. I remember my mother worried about my oldest brother geting drafted. Vietnam was a disaster. I just feel Afghanistan is going to end up the same way. Corruption isn't fixable imo.

I'm sure you'll make a good officer though. Seem level headed and think things through. Respect is the number one attribute. Same with sports they respect you , they work harder.
You are right about bottom heavy- but the economy should help that some. No jobs in the private sector. My youngest son just got a job -in his field- took a yr and a half. Top 4% of his class....ridiculous. My oldest is working a federal job -DEA. So he is serving too.

Haha...I looked at the Marine Corps, but the Army mission set just appeals to me a little more.

The Army is really bottom heavy right now, though...with plenty of enlisted but a serious shortage of officers to lead them. It's just kinda time to do my part. I'm still considering a couple things, but I'm definitely leaning towards the Army.

You mentioned you had a son or nephew in the Rangers once, I believe. Did you serve?
