You've seen or interested in any of this? Realize you are already a fantastic contributor on RMC and I'm sure you are quite busy overall but thought I throw it out there. Thought it would be cool to see your work get even more recognition since you've clearly earned it over the years. Just a thought. Good luck Den and keep up the great work.

No, that was a contract job which finished up. Then I decided to get my Masters so have been working on that the last few years. But I know some of the guys there obviously, including the analytics department. Yeah I can share what the paper is about- doing a study on shot defense by shot location, factoring in other variables like shot clock, release type, # of dribbles. However, I can't share the data I'm using and as for my findings, I'm being cautious as the data I'm using is not mine. Using data from Vantage Sports as I'm going to be a stats contributor there. The stats they have are really quite amazing. And unlike SportsVu they track contesting shots- whether you get your hand up or not. And that makes a huge difference (my research is exploring that). I'm sure it could help with your truehoop gig.

Going to the MIT Sloan Sports conference this year! Bought the tickets and since I'm a grad student, got the big discount. Also, I think my university is going to reimburse me too. Also submitted a paper to the conference, not expecting much but that'd be cool if I got to present.

I didn't say your views were looney. I said I didn't think that you actually believe in that stuff (which you pretty much confirmed in your response to that comment). And that's exactly what the idea of a poe is, a person who presents themself as having an opinion they don't actually hold, but their very far out ideas are indistinguishable from the very far out ideas presented by true believers.

So you really think Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory really might be a reptile person because he's "in the media"? Really?!? Sorry man, not buying that.
