  1. Fun anecdote that's too OT for the thread in religion (and related to my bluntness), I recently had a point taken off of an assignment grade (in what was an otherwise exceptional score) because I was "perhaps a little too forward in [my] peer review."

I guess my instructor didn't like that my peer review said "Your report is void of substance. You seem to have ignored the assignment guidelines. ...your last two paragraphs are written as though you realized you needed to write at least 1500 words and came 500 short."

...I've never been very good with tactful writing...lol
  2. it's not my usual adventure type of vacation... but I'm sure it will be fun.

Ah yes, I know what you're talking about. Those cruises can be amazing. Those ships are like live cities, you got casinos, restaurants, nightclubs and everything in there!
Just make sure you have light clothing as it's very hot. If you're going to the Aegean and at the Cyclades in particular just take caution that it's relatively windy but you don't need thick clothes, the weather is perfect there. Sea water is quite cold there as well. The Ionian sea has great water temperature though. Don't forget to buy souvenirs from the little shops you'll find on the islands. I have a knack of collecting souvenirs from every island I pass by

hey flips, could you recommend a site or text someone like me (a novel reader) could read that gets into the connections b/t emotion, identity, world view/perspective, and just dealing with ****? I find it interesting and it has a very practical purpose for /me.

Hey, final chance to sign up for the superhero re-draft. I assume you're interested since you voted in the polls?
  8. Yeah of course smoking directly is worse. Sucking on a tailpipe of a car is going to kill you faster than living in a smoggy city. But both are bad.

also i have no idea how bad second hand smoke is. I'll agree with its bad. Still, I would assume a pack a day smoker who is it sucking down his gullet to his lungs 20 times a day for 5 to 10 mins is doing a lot more damage then some who is around smokers sometimes. I don't know how bad it is and i don't think these studies are even trying to answer that question

See, I agree with what you are saying but i also disagree with deliberate misrepresentation and what i see as manipulation. The language exist to present the findings in a ways that makes sense and affirms the cigarettes are bad message.
