Rumours starting to swirl about Trout being unhappy with not making the playoffs. I called this earlier in the off season. Let’s hope the Angels suck...
I've been a "rabid" NBA since the late 1950s. I started watching at the side of my dad who was both very-knowledgeable and very-avid. He had loved pro-basketball from before the NBA existed.
I was born and raised in New Jersey, not far from N. Y. City. In those days, everywhere, but particularly in the Deep South (which we visited a couple of times a year), racism was SOP: nasty attitudes, gang-bang beatings & the "3-Bathroom System": "men", "women" and " coloreds" (an abomination without plumbing, cleaning or lighting).
It was the biracial teamwork of The Big "O" and Jerry Lucas, and especially that of Jerry West & Elgin Baylor (who were much more equals basketball-skills-wise) that "changed my life". Though I've always liked the Knicks & Yankees, the Lakers became my #1 team for life. And I've dedicated serious effort, my whole adult life, to working for social change and against injustice.
