YC basically has said exactly what happened. Another mod saw it and brought it to the attention of the admins. And obviously it was way out of line as it was nothing but people editting posts to create completely inappropriate banter, (bearing in mind this is supposed to be a family friendly site). So it was nixed. I'm not against having one personally, and maybe it's time to try to clear it with the admins.

I've tried to make a case with SI in the past but he didn't bite. If you want to make an appeal, go for it.

Admins wanted to do with away with it because the conversations going on in there were wildly ridiculous and inappropriate. I wish we could have one, but their decision was final.
