Havenít posted here but maybe once in the last week or a little over and the place is dead, not much new activity at all since Iíve last posted. For one itís a shame of the low quality and quantity of posts Iíve seen since being gone and for two it shows you just how important I am to keeping this site up and running so I figured I would try to spark some discussion before our mods receive pay cuts or lose their jobs due to the posters of the board not being active.

So who are you picking between the redeem team and dream team? When discussing, keep in mind that Magic was out of his prime and Larry was a walking corpse.

Iím going with the redeem team as their top players were all in the middle of their prime/peaks for the most part and I donít think the dream team couldíve kept up.

Stockton-MJ-Pippen-Clyde-Mullin were all in their primes

Dream team kills them up front. Admiral-Sir Charles-Mail Man all in their Primes. Ewing as backup.

Magic and Bird even as role players were high iq guys that could fit in if needed.

It's going be close. I'm going with dream team, cuz that team has some crazy chemistry. It's not just talent it's the combination of talent, coaching, and chemistry.

Wade tips the scale for you, MJ tips it for me.

Also 12 HOF's vs. 8. Dream team kills them up front and with depth. dream time 2nd unit will murk the redeem teams.

Dream smashes. Better starters, better D, and better depth. Other than Bird they were all in their prime as well.

I agree with depth towards the end of the bench although I would say the top 8-10 are all that matters. They may have a slight edge defensively but I like the redeem teams starters better. How do you rank their starters due to their play at the time of these teams (1992 & 2008)? I donít think the dream teams starters could keep up, looks like a big matchup problem for them out there.

Magic and showtime were run and gun. Jordan, Clyde, Stockton, Pippen, Admiral and co would have no issues running the floor. Mailman could run the floor for a big, even a Prime Sir charles wasn't bad in that facet, no worse vs. Carmelo.

I think when you slow it down to a half court game Dream team has an advantage more vs. Redeem in transition. I think both teams could play in transition, but huge edge in the half court to the dream team.

Trying to figure out why they chose to have Malone in that starting 5 with Chuck.

Dream Team. The 1996 Team would also beat the Redeem Team.

At that time there were very few big men on the international level that could handle either one. Even in those starting lineups against each other Iíd take Malone or Barkley over Dwight Howard.

Donít forget they were also longer. The Dream Team was a bigger team overall. They also played in a much tougher era.

The fact that Carmelo is a starter is only adding to the Dream > Redeem argument lol

Wade came off the bench. Pretty sure one of the pf did too

Dream team. They have 4 out of the 5 better starters. Better bench. More versatility.

I disagree but don't care to debate.

You got literally 1 vote on your side. And it was you. So that happened.

dream team.

I'm voting this way squarely because the other team would have the worst player in the game. Wade would slow down the redeem team down enough that the dream team wins easy.

if they had like cp3 or deron Williams instead they win by at least 20.

Pretty lame that people try and hijack the thread with off topic posts like these. Just know you and your post have been reported.

redeem team better having wade off the Bench.

Cp3, Kobe and Melo could provide more spacing for Bron.

Dream team needs Admiral starting with Mailman coming off the Bench. Barkley was a beast in '92, no way he's coming off the Bench. Admiral provides better defense and length. Stockton and Malone PNR off the Bench would be wet.

The Dream team has more talent top to bottom, so I'm inclined to give them the edge. But I do think it'd be a hell of a series, and I think the Redeem team would have an edge in terms of floor spacing and a slight edge in terms of athleticism. It's hard not to side with a team that has multiple top 25 all-time guys sitting on its bench, though.

Pretty wild that Wade sucks but won MVP of the redeem team.

Chemistry and spacing matter.

Wade was a beast in 08. No doubt. I don't think anyone says he sucks.

When I think about it. Cp3-Kobe-Bron-Melo-D12 can hold their own in the half court. Kobe and Melo just need to have less ego. the Bench needs Wades scoring. He could still be a top 2-3 player on an Olypic team and coe off the Bench. Just be the Manu of the Redeem team. Dream Team bench is stacked so he will be much needed against them.

imagine if the Dream Team had not had hate drama (Zeke) and been at full strength and instead of the "college all star slot" had another healthy established HOF star instead (Dominique/Worthy/McHale).

The 2012 squad is the better matchup. Neither of the newer squads can hang with the Dreamers in the paint, but 2012's team can punish them on the perimeter. You get true peak LeBron, Paul and Williams. Kobe's still great on both ends. Add Durant and Harden on the wing. Spread the floor with Carmelo and Love in the front court to help pull the Dream Team's bigs out of the paint.

I liked Wade03. Found him harmless. I don't venture enough into this forum outside of game threads so I'm not sure what he did, but I'm disappointed he was permabanned.
