Saw this on twitter and thought it was interesting. If you could change 1 loss to a win for your team what would it be? I had a tough time deciding between game 2 of the 2011 finals and game 7 of the 2005 ECF. Due to wades rips being separated in 05 I’m going to go with game 2 in 2011. With Wade injured we wouldn’t have had enough to beat the Spurs in the finals in 2005 but if we win game 2 in 2011 we more than likely win that series and wade wins another finals MVP.

What would yours be and how do you think that could’ve changed things for your team?

Kinda hard for me as a Raptors fan, cause even in the few games where I would switch over, we would have been killed anyways :laugh2:

2001 vs Philly (Game 7)- The Bucks would've smoked us in the conference finals that year. Allen/Cassell/Robinson would make that series last 5-6 games at most and probably would've ended in a sweep.

2014 vs New Jersey- If we had won game 7, we'd have a wonderful date in the conference Semi-Finals with Miami with Wade/Lebron/Bosh...Miami would win that series in 3.

Game 3 or game 5 of the 06 finals for my Mavs. If they win either of those games the series is over

Game 6 against the Bulls the second go around. We win that he we have he 7 at home and Pippen was really hurt. Might have totally changed how we view those Jazz teams but it be what it be.

Game 4 of the 2008 Finals when we blew a 24pts lead vs boston at home, if we win this one we go back to boston up 3-2, it doesn't mean we win the series but we would have been in a much better position.

For sure over if you all win game 3 but definitely not the case if you win game 6

I dunno. There really isn't many as a Sixers fan that I'm looking back on that I would want to see changed.

As a NBA fan: Game 7, 2002 Western Conference Finals. Kings beat the Lakers, Kings-Nets finals. I think the Nets win that.

What about game 7 vs Toronto last year? I feel if you all could’ve beat the Bucks you would’ve beat the beat up Warriors in the finals and won a championship.

Eh maybe. But I don’t have the firm history to be 100% sure it was a missed opportunity. Plus I never really get upset losing to the eventual champions.

EDIT:
Also I look at that King’s loss as potentially league altering. The King’s went into a nearly 2 decade funk after that, the Lakers did the Payton/Malone signings the next year, the Nets started to dismantle it because of that loss and the impending tax. That one win can change a lot.

Bucks would be either game 6 or 7 of the EFC vs Philly in 2001. We still most likely lose to the Lakers, but the bucks played the Lakers tough that year, so it's possible it at least would have been a little better series than Philly vs LAL.

Game 3 of last years conference finals would have been interesting too. Obviously toronto was capable of winning 4 straight, since they did, but losing a double OT game to go down 3-0 may have been very demoralizing.

for recent history, 2010 finals game 7 when the Celtics ran out of gas and got owned on the boards in the 4th quarter.

The Blazers may have the easiest pick of all examples. Definitely G7 2000 WCF. If we beat the Lakers there we probably win the title.

That’s a good one but I would say Warriors game 7 in 2016 is the easiest because then they for sure win the title.

True, that or the Knicks G7 vs the Rockets. Any G7 for the title really lol

Possibly :laugh2:

Gotta say tho, it's tough. Probly between that and .4 for me.

Reason is, if Ray's shot doesn't happen, then the Beautiful Game doesn't happen. That was like levels of ball I hadn't seen played before.

2000 finals game 6. Or the Malice at the Palace, if I can just get rid of a game.

It's pretty nuts to think how close it was to the Shaq/Kobe Lakers only having one title.

Celtics got hosed that finals. Some of the worst one-sided officiating I've ever seen.

For me, I think I choose game 5 of the 2017 finals. I think if we could've stole that one and brought back to CLE for game 6, we could've won and threaten to pull off the 3-0 comeback.

I was thinking maybe game 4 of the 2015 finals since we probably win going up 3-1, but 2016 going the way it did and being the first title is just too special to change.

I wonder which game Dubs fans would change, though?

Game 5 to go ahead and put the Cavs to bed? Game 6 to spray that champagne in the CLE locker room again? Or game 7, to give LBJ false hope only to shatter it and celebrate in ROARacle in epic fashion?

76ers went to the finals in 2001, we lost to them in game 7 by a bucket. What makes you think we would have gotten smoked by the Bucks? It’s not like they advance to the finals.

Torn between 2005 ECF Game 7 and 2011 NBA Finals Game 2 for my Heat. Gonna go with Game 7, though even if we pulled it out, I'm not confident we would've gotten past the Spurs, especially when our entire starting lineup with injured (Wade's ribs, UD had a foot issue, Damon Jones' heel, Eddie Jones was always injured, and Shaq had an injury that limited him).

Even after practically handing the Mavs' Game 2, we came back to win the next game on the road. LBJ was bad in basically every game after Game 2, so we were probably in for a loss in that series anyway. No joke, it's the only glaring stain on LeBrons resume in my view.
