What names are out there?

To me it seems they have to replace Magic, and let the replacement hire his GM and coach.

That's a lot of pressure on Magic's "sister" Jeannie.

They could use the president opening to sweeten the deal on an experienced coach. Offer these guys the Thibs deal and maybe be able to pry away a good candidate

The best thing ever would be if Kobe became President and traded LeBron.

Grunfeld would be the best name as per me too. his firing (http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26424613/out-magic-wizards-fire-prez-ernie-grunfeld) was indeed magic :D

The frustrating thing is that Jeannie Buss wants to hire ex Lakers or someone heavily involved in the past with the Lakers rather than the best person available (which in my opinion would right the ship).

Besides TRYING for Jerry West, all other options seem to lack the quality.

Would love RC or Masai.

Apparently Myers already said no thanks.

My guess is Pelinka as the President and Ryan West (Jerrys son) as GM. The in house thing is getting old but dont think Kobe wants to be involved with basketball anymore. He wants to do bucket list things in his life.

Plot twist:

Lebron passes Kobe's 20 year scoring record next year, LeGOAT's 17th year.
LeGOAT passes bryant in steals next year
LeGOAT gets all his "people" in leadership roles within Lakers

The first two are guarantees.

The best thing ever would be if Kobe became President and traded LeBron.

2018-19 Lou Williams, Jordan Clarkson, and Julius Randle ... 58.2 pts, 15 reb, 10.9 Ast ... yeah, the Lakers need better talent evaluatiors.

And that's leaving out DLo because he was turned into the lucky pick of Kuzma, but they also let Lopez go for nothing.

Pelinka is talking to coaches so it looks like Jeannie is going to stick with him and let him go forward without a replacement president? That seems like something to set the team back another couple years. My guess is that this results in another reboot in a few years when LeBron's contract expires and he changes teams to whichever team will pay his son to play.
