Pacers in 5, they're a much better defensive team and are a team that actually gets a long with each other. Unity > undivided squabbling mess.

Pacers in 6. This just isnt the Celtics year. Smart will miss this series too which will be a big blow to the defense. A lot of pressure on Irving with an increased load and to be able to match last years run without him. With all the drama surrounding him this season i cant be that confident he handles it all too well.

with dipo this would be close... i would give it to maybe pacers in 7 but right now its celtics in 5 or 6.

Hardest one to predict here because we have no idea which version of either team we'll see. the overachieving version of the Pacers could pose real problems for a scatter brained Celtics team.

My guess is the Celtics will be able to pull it together and win in 6.

I know this sounds crazy but not having Marcus Smart around will probably benefit the Celtics. Yeah, he comes up with big plays and is great defensively but there's just too many mouths to feed on this Celtics squad. They also have Kyrie and it's the playoffs so he's gonna go off.

Sabonis and Turner are going to be hard for the C's to handle on both ends. I'm a big fan of Al but he's going to need some help with them. That's really the only thing the Pacers have going for them. Celtics in 5.

Cs should be down by like 30 right now. The fact they are only down like 8 points is a miracle. They look like TRASH. Incredible dud of a first half at home. They almost have the same amount of turnovers as field goals.

Always good when you don’t turn the ball over, rebound, and try on defense. Cs have just obliterated the Pacers this half. Pacers have scored 17 this entire half and there’s 4 mins left in the game.

When the Cs want to play, they can just legit take it to another level. With no Oladipo, Indy has no chance to hang, even with their great defense.

And the celtics barely seem to either.

Today’s game was a microcosm of this entire season. They shot 34% and had 20 turnovers and they basically wiped the floor with Indiana in the second half. That being said, Indy might be the worst team in the East playoffs (outside of Griffin-less Pistons). They can’t beat good teams.

Celtics in 4 or 5... they are a #1 quality team that sleepwalked and BS'd through the regular season. Playoffs started and they have an Oladipo-less Pacers team. They're looking to beat Indy as soon as possible so they can play against a real challenge next round.

All that BS in the regular season - dudes are moronic to think that the C's aren't a threat in the East.

Brad Stevens comes alive in the playoffs - it's where he thrives.

Boston is looking super deep. Everyone is balling.

Hayward found his footwork and plays great on ball defense.

Morris has been balling on both ends for a while now.

Rozier has been getting his own shot and locks up the primary ball handler.

Baynes gives Boston more size on defense.

Man, the Cs have been just absolute train wreck with turnovers this series. It’s basically the reason Indiana has basically stayed in most of these games. Indy is a fantastic defensive team (Oladipo or not) but the Cs would be blowing the doors off this team if they were just a little more careful.

Crap game from both Horford and Irving. I believe they were 8 for 32 combined. And yet, Hayward carries them today. Been waiting forever for this. Changes a lot for the Cs if this is the Hayward they get going forward.

Hayward and the bench owned that one. Horford/Kyrie 8-32 and still get the road win though. That's not bad.

I think they throw different looks at him (similar to what they did with LeBron) but I think they will let him get his and focus on the auxiliary players and trying to get those guys limited/ shut down. Giannis is great and he will get his. They won’t be able to **** him down. But limiting the Middleton/Bledsoe’s of the world will be the Cs primary target along with contesting their 3s.

I think Cs will have easier time getting to the hoop this series without a great defensive center on the court. Indy’s defense and physicality made games into rock fights the way they play so thought that was good preparation for the Cs. But I never know what to expect with the Cs game to game.

Hayward is probably the wild card for this series imo. If he’s back and plays the way he did today, it could swing the series.

Expecting a 6 or 7 game series. These teams really match up well vs each other.

I agree.

Indiana is an extremely physical team. I saw that in the 2018 playoffs, but they had Dipo then to make them even harder to defend.

It was like a breath of fresh air playing the Raps in the 2nd round who didn't play nearly as physical.

It'll be a fun series.

Rivera

i still dont trust the Cs yet. They have been a funny team this whole season. Im glad they swept the Pacers, they should have given Indys current state.

The biggest thing I take away from this series, the health of Hayward. He is looking better and better and really is rounding into form. Thats just another weapon for the Cs

Vee-Rex
04-22-2019, 11:31 AM
C's need to hope they can stay healthy. Having Baynes healthy is HUGE as he makes a difference in that starting lineup.

rc33
04-22-2019, 02:23 PM
They're a difficult team to "trust" because we saw runs during the season that made us believe they'd turned the corner. Only to come right back to earth.
That said, I think this may finally be the C's team we thought we'd see this year.
Playing with more confidence, better ball movement and the D seems improved too.
And Boston has the horses, no doubt about that.
Talent up and down that roster.
If I'm Milwaukee this is not the #4 seed I wanted to see.

Vee-Rex

You can almost throw the regular season out of the window at this point. The playoffs are another world entirely. It's where 73-win pre-KD regular season wonders die a brutal death.
