The Rockets took 3721 3's this season. That's an incredible 45.4 per game, that's one every 63 seconds.

They made 1323 3s, that's a 35.6% rate which scored them 1.06 points per shot, compared to the 3442 2's they shot at a 55.1% rate which scored them 1.02 points per shot. 279 more 3s than 2s. Math. But not by a lot.

Compare them to the Warriors who most casual fans still think are "the team that shoots the 3s all the time":

3's 1087/2824 at 38.5% for 1.155
2's 2525/4537 at 55.7% for 1.114

1713 more 2s than 3s.

The Warriors attempted 188 more shots than the Rockets ... 2s take less time to create than 3s.

Any other season stats you find interesting?

I remember analysts saying points in the paint was getting nuts this season. Did you also know that the Nets shoot a lot of 3's? NBA TV guys were saying they need to "let it fly" against the Sixers.

The Warriors finished 8th in 3s attempted which is a big climb from where they were mid-season when they were 15th.

To me, the Rockets are on the edge of too many 3s which is shocking because they take a ton.

Sixers had the biggest point differential between the starting 5 (Simmons, Redick, Butler, Harris, Embiid) on the floor together, and any starter replaced by a bench player.

That is a bizarre stat. So one 5 man lineup was very positive and every other 5 man lineup was much worse. Yikes.

I should quantify with still starter level. But that starting lineup is 2nd best in the NBA. Any bench player and it dips to 20th.

Iím trying to decide if thatís how good our starters are or how bad our bench is.

Not a stat but the story of Zhaire Smith.

Picked 16th overall.
Broke a foot while working out.
Had a severe allergy reaction to peanuts.
Doctors found a hole in his esophagus.
Had a feeding tube for a while.
Lost 40 pounds.
Made it all the way back onto onto the court for the Sixers.

The only part of that that I knew was the first 2 and the last one.

Yea, basically there was a time this year where the question wasn't will he play again this season, but will he play again period.
