Itís definitely a big day for playoff positioning. Itís disappointing for me that Iíll be asleep during most of them - theyíre all the late games. Houston can possibly pull within 1/2 a game of Denver, but they could also drop to fourth in the standings.

The 3-8 seeds can all change tonight.

The Denver radio today said Denver has the 4th best defense since the all star break. They also have the 28th ranked offense since.

Malone went on to say Iíve never coached a team where everyone shooting just went cold at some point in the season.

I'm ecstatic the Bulls beat the Wizards. Cavs close to clinching a bottom 3 seed. 3 wins behind Chicago now. Our remaining schedule is:

@Sacramento
@Golden State
vs. Spurs
vs. Hornets

Bulls schedule:

vs. Sixers
vs. Knicks
@ Sixers

tonight and maybe the okc game is the only time I will root for houston this season.

Nuggets beat Spurs, but not much to take away. Spurs were on a back to back and looked lethargic from the opening tip. Nuggets still have to play Portland x2, and the Jazz with the Rockets on their tail.

looks like the only thing that is going to change is that the Spurs fall to 8. Oof the Rockets look like they are back to the level they were last year.

Yeah Houston, Portland and Denver all won easily tonight. Itís going to be a tight race still though. Houston probably needs to win out to keep the three seed

Harden has been very efficient that last couple of games and I think he's slowly moving past Giannis, if he hasn't already.

If the Rockets finish 2nd, which is very likely, I think you'd have to strongly consider giving it to him.

I think they're actually more likely to end up 4th. The only way for them to overtake Denver is if Portland beats Denver twice. If that happens, Portland could win out and they hold the tiebreaker over Houston. Not sure what happens if there's a three way tie.

If thereís a three way tie, Houston gets the 2 seed based on conference wins or something. They broke it all down in the game last night. Houston has the tiebreaker over Denver, Portland has it over Houston and it remains to be seen between Denver and Portland.

They're 1.5 game up

But look at the Nuggets next 4 games:

Portland
@Portland
@Utah
Minny

The Rockets next 3 games:

Knicks
Suns
Thunder

The Nuggets have to go 3/4 in a brutal stretch. Rockets will get two easy wins and depending on whether the Thunder are 7th or 8th, they'll rest their starters so it could be 3.

Right, but the problem is that the Trailblazers are 0.5 games behind Houston, and Portland has an extra game to play. If the Nuggets don't win 3/4, there's a good chance that they drop both to Portland. If that's the case, Portland is going to at worst tie Houston.

So either the Nuggets fall and the Trailblazers pass Houston, or the Trailblazers fall and the Nuggets stay ahead in these scenarios. The only way I see Houston getting the 2 seed is if there is a three way tie. Houston also has to win out for this to happen. I don't see OKC resting their guys. The Spurs are going to win out - OKC will have to battle for the 7 seed with their final two games being against Houston and then Milwaukee.
